And it STILL stands as a great series combining fictional plot devices and
storylines with powerful points made about the state's intrusion into the
lives of individual citizens.

It's not about dressing up as a prisoner, or a Number 2, or (fer chrissakes)
a security guard in re-enactments.

It's about BEING an individual and never giving in to misplaced intrusions
into one's privacy on the excuse of "it's for your own good" because it
never is.

As I see it: They take this hard-working chap up from London to a lovely
resort for a free holiday and all he has to do is spin a story for them,
just like we did around the campfire. But he refuses, because they won't
say "please".

They did try that -- in A Change of Mind everybody ignores Number Six.
No one wants to talk to him at all.
