I could be mistaken; but waaay back when, wasn't Rebecca taken in by
Rene as a sorta-kinda daughter??? If the writers had remembered that
- Kyle (the dearly departed Rebecca's brother), could have been taken
under Rene's matronly wing months ago; and he possibly wouldn't feel
so alone on this bitter earth (and we'd have seen more of Rene....).
But at least he has Roxie.

The writing for Kyle is awful. How can he be in med school when he lost
his job as a lab tech for messing around with Stacy's blood, etc. Med
schools don't look kindly upon those with unethical backgrounds. Fish
falling all over himself trying to be with Kyle is idiotic. Oh, wait....
most of the story lines are idiotic and boring.
