From the promos, it looks like OLTL is actually getting a bona fide
Supervillain. Apparently he's been killed at least once before? And
the family tree is really confusing me now: Jessica and Natalie are
sisters, but Mitch's daughter and wife, respectively?? And Rex is
Natalie's brother and Mitch's son, on top of that?! @__@
Incidentally, I thought Spoilers had revealed that Rex's father was
going to be someone named "Spenser Truman". Would that have been as
bad as Mitch?

History of Mitch:
Mitch first appears in Llanview in the early 1980's as Tina's (Viki's
sister) boyfriend and a con-man. After a few wild adventures, Mitch
killed a guy named Harry O'Neil and tried to frame Niki Smith for it.
The actual target was Clint, but Harry showed up at the wrong time.
Anyhoo, Mitch went to prison.
A few years later he convinced the a parole board that he had "found
the Lord" and began posing as a preacher inorder to get pretty young
girls into his bed (he was drugging them). During this time he drugged
Viki/Niki and had sex with her (she remembered nothing of the event).
Viki slept with Clint roughly the same day and ended up pregnant with
fraternal twins, one by each man. Mitch by this time had several
"disciples" to carry out his evil plans. One of them was Walter
Balsam, the doctor who delivered the twins. He never told Viki she was
pregnant with two babies, only one. Viki was give a sedative during
delivery and the twin that was not Mitch's (Natalie) was given to
Balsam to deal with. He took her home and raised as his own (although
he died a few years later). Balsam was married to Roxy. During this
marriage she became pregnant by Mitch (probably another drugged sexual
encounter - That was Mitchs's M.O.), and that baby was Rex. Viki
raised Mitch's daughter, Jessica. This Jessica and Rex are half-
brother and half-sister.
However, by the time of Rex's birth, everyone thought Mitch was dead.
Balsam must have been one fo the disciples who helped him fake the
death. None of this happened on the show, it is now only being
explained by the continuity-clueless current writers.
Cassie Callison, Dorian's daughter, was a reporter when Mitch was
doing the phony preacher gig and managed to infiltrate his cult. She
resisted being drugged by him as long as she could, but Mitch finally
succeeded. Just as he was about to rape Cassie, Dorian found them and
hit him over the head with a candlestick (Dorian did it in the hotel
room with the candlestick!), after the typical soap opera trial where
Cassie was accused of the murder, Dorian fessed up and went to prison
for a little while. She eventually got a pardon.
Mitch does not re-apprea5 (except as a ghost on Viki's famous trip to
Heaven, when Mitch had to be loaned from Hell), until eariler this
decade where not only does he turn out to be alive, and so does Victor
Lord (despite having been autopsied TWICE!). Mitch is working with
Victor and pulls off one of his very elaborate schemes. First he
married Dorian (which never made sense for a lot of reasons). After
their annulment, he seduced Natalie and married her (she had no real
appreciation for all the devastation he caused in previous years, and
she was not yet accepted by the Buchanan's). It's all part of bigger
diobolical plot which involves Victor getting Natalie's heart so he
can keep living, never mind that Nat is still using it. Nat is saved,
Victor dies again, Mitch getrs away.
Mitch was eventually killed by Dorian again, but this time in self
defense (I think Lindsey may have been there too), but this time the
body was never found so it was more believable for him to come back.
And now we Mitch on a new adventure and God only knows what will come
out and how much of this back story will be rewritten.

That's a pretty detailed and accurate post, Dan. I commend you on
remembering and wanting to or being able to type all of that out. LOL
However- i *think* his last death, previous to this return- we did see
his dead body on the docks. I forget the details on that one right
now- but maybe it had been beaten and such- maybe post mortum. i can't
recall.. Perhaps DW will chime in. But his dead body was left there on
the dock for the cops to find and they did autopsy. He was dead dead
dead and we all saw it and were lead to believe he was gone for good
(sigh). I believe Jessica had killled him in self defense IIRC.
But again- i am a bit fuzzy on the details.

pipe and Todd (posing as Walker) didn't want Jessica to take the blame
so did all sorts of things to his body to totally muck up and confuse
the evidence including poisoning him.

Thank you, DW. That is just the info i was hoping you could provide.
Isn't that when they had him tied up in the old abandoned Theatre? I
remember one hilarious scene with that where Lindsay is there and at
one point she screams "I'm not crazy!" and then runs out of the room
screaming "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" like a crazy person. LOL
There is a scene in "Scary Movie 2" with the same exact dialog and
then the girl runs out screaming.
Just busted me up.
I miss Lindsay.

you named, but at the time she was truly fighting sanity (not faking it)
and one of the episodes ended with the three girls watching in delight
as they seemed to be accomplishing their mission: make a blinded Mitch
think he's lost his mind - and the look on Lindsay's beaming face just
was so priceless!
