1. THE CURRENT:


Today on The Current… host Anna Maria Tremonti talks to Jenni Williams
and Magodonga Mahlangu…two Zimbabwean women who have been jailed
because of their political activity. Williams and Mahlangu are leaders
of Women of Zimbabwe Arise, a grassroots movement dedicated to the
empowerment of women in that African nation. They'll be on the program
to discuss their experiences and how they now secure their safety.

2. Q:

This morning on Q…Canadian funnyman and entrepreneur Mark Breslin
joins host Jian Ghomeshi live in studio to discuss his latest
venture. Breslin is the founder of the largest comedy club chain in
North America - Yuk Yuk's - and he's just released an audio history of
the form in Canada. The five-CD box set is called "The Yuk Yuk's
Guide to Canadian Stand-Up"…and in it, Breslin pays tribute to the
country's special brand of humour. Today, he talks about looking back
on the golden age of Canadian comedy in the new audio series…and
reveals what it takes to become a successful comic.

Comedy club impresario Mark Breslin discusses the Canadian stand-up
identity…on Q, today at 10:00 a.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

3. DISPATCHES:

This afternoon on Dispatches… a week after the fall of the Berlin
wall...Czechoslovakia had its turn. The CBC's Nancy Durham was in
Prague on the night of November 17, 1989 - as hundreds of thousands of
protestors marched through the streets. On today's program Durham
unearths her 20-year-old cassettes from that night, when the people
started sensing their growing power. She'll take listeners back to
hear what happened when communism fell in the eastern European
nation.

More on Czechoslovakia's Velvet Revolution…including an interview with
a former Czech student activist about his country, 20 years later.

4. REWIND:

This week, Rewind looks back at the Jonestown murder suicide. It was
just over 30 years ago when more than 900 followers of preacher Jim
Jones died in northwestern Guyana…after drinking a concoction laced
with cyanide. On today's program…host Michael Enright presents a
documentary that aired on CBC Radio just a week after the mass death
unfolded and sent shockwaves around the world.

Reflecting on the Jonestown tragedy on Rewind…today at 2:00 p.m. (2:30
NT) on CBC Radio One.

5. IDEAS:

This evening on IDEAS…leading couples' therapist Sue Johnson talks
about her acclaimed book Hold Me Tight. It blends the fundamentals of
psychology, counselling and couples' therapy to give readers the
secrets behind lasting relationships. On tonight's program, she
discusses some of the mysteries of love that have frustrated many
throughout the ages. She'll also explain why "hold me tight"
conversations are important to securing a couple's special bond.

An intimate and revealing conversation with renowned therapist Sue

6. CANADA LIVE:

Tonight on Canada Live, a dazzling performance by Canada's most
celebrated musical family …the Rankins. These four siblings from Cape
Breton released their first recording in 1989 …and quickly became
known to the world as The Rankin Family. Earlier this year, they
played a 20-concert cross-country reunion tour…to support the release
of their new CD These Are The Moments. On tonight's program, The
Rankin Family wraps up the tour with a special concert at Halifax's
Metro Centre. They shine on stage, before an adoring hometown crowd
of over 5,000…and prove why they're one of Cape Breton's most popular
exports.
