Hey, thanks for an awsome review. This is a job that the promo's team of
channel cuatro offered boolab.tv. There was a pitch of several directors
and it ended up in my hands (all the other boards were amazing), we did so
much viewing of the last two seasons of the show, so much rotoscoping, so
many palm trees in 3D... that when the promo was done we had a bittersweet
taste. The people at cuatro (iï¿œaki Marticorena) had the idea of using
Jorge Luis Borge's poem on chess. We couldn't get the rights to use it and
we stumbled onto Omar Khayyï¿œm's poem, it was amazingly written and had
just the words that we needed. The rest was just hard work, for a mere 40
seconds piece.

Are you suggesting one statue of Taweret and one of Apep? I think the
island may be getting a little heavy on tall objects. In looking at
that screencap again ( http://www.lostargs.com/ ), it looks like at
least one of the objects in the box might be a lighthouse. Or maybe
it's a rook, and there really is an entire chess set in there (go
Cuatro). I haven't watched the video, so I'm not sure about the
scale.
Anyway, if we're going with the light and dark theme, and Taweret
represented evil during the day, then perhaps the statue is the dark
aspect and the lighthouse is the light aspect, shining in the night.
I just think it would be a little ridiculous to discover that not only
is there a previously unseen lighthouse on the island, but there's
also a second statue (probably with a *right* foot remaining).

I can not see the contents of the box, just a blur in the video, but the
box is about the size of an average moving box. With TPTB reluctance to
spoil any story lines of season six, I would be surprised if the contents
of the box contains anything new, which would limit the contents to
artifacts already seen during the first 5 seasons.

The 'foot print' of the two statue photos have never appeared to me to be
the same. Following the path of the upper thighs and tracing toward the
unseen feet, the stance is much wider in the one pic from the other. (The
season 5 DVD disk 5 menu contains the wide stance statue as a backdrop.)
As you mention, we are seeing huge structures towards the end of Lost that
the Losties never saw in most of 5 seasons or 3 months to 3 years on the
island. The new alt timeline or pre-history time flashes, may account for
most if not all of these 'strange' objects. We also have NOT seen the
inner court of the Temple. It too may be massive, buried in dense jungle
growth.
The statue base seen by Jin, Sayid and Sun while off shore on the
Elizabeth, was nearly in the water. The massive structure top was not
seen, and probably now lies below the waterline. It would not be far
fetched for me to believe a twin stature may have suffered slightly more
trauma, or may have been in front of the statue remains we have seen.
Either way a 2nd companion statue could be possible. At this point in time
is is highly speculative.

I agree, which probably eliminates the object I suggested in my
previous post. But the more I look at the (fuzzy) contents of that
box, the more a large chess set seems feasible. The light-colored
object near the bottom of the screencap looks the most like the
Taweret statue, especially the head. There seems to be a darker
figure above that, but it doesn't look like the same shape. There is
also another light-colored object that *could* be a figure with the
legs wider apart. And then there's the tower-like dark object.
I assumed Damon's capitalization of the word QUEEN referred to the
cross-dressing. But it's possible that the Cuatro promo and his
comment were actually pointing to the ARG and a chess set. Obviously
the producers aren't going to give away the actual endgame of the show
at this point. There's definitely a bunch of different shapes in the
box, in two colors.

I think they really screwed up the continuity with the statue, but I'm
not sure if the differences are meant to indicate two different
statues. Obviously they had no idea that the statue was even going to
be Taweret when they first showed the foot. Whichever story you
believe about the number of toes, it seems they had no clue they would
eventually be showing a goddess who was supposed to have the body of a
hippopotamus. The whole thing is messed up, with the body type and
clothing of a man.
