When we last left our losties, it was December 23, 2004, and the rescue
that turns into a mass murder is just about to commence. Did the Lost
writers plan this, this way, or are they just making it up as they go
along?
Is there any significance to the timing of the 'rescue' on Christmas day?
If so, what might it be?
Day 93 - Thursday, December 23, 2004
Ben: Jack, listen to me. If you phone her boat every single living person
on this island will be killed.

"Through the Looking Glass"
Locke ...pleads with Jack not to make contact and threatens to shoot him,
but Jack refuses and Locke is unable to pull the trigger. A voice on the
other end of the transmission informs Jack that they will be on the island
shortly.

I've haven't seen any Spoilers yet that indicate the Newcomers jump off the
chopper and start shooting. If that happened the surviving Losties would
scatter and evade the newcomers after the first volley, after all they know
the terrain better. Don't forget the Losties still have firearms from
Sayid's team plus the captured pieces from the now defunct Other's Snatch
team. More then likely Jack will have to come up with a suitable
explanation about Naomi to stave off a violent confrontation. I still think
the Newcomers will have a plan to control the Losties who they know are
expecting rescue. It wouldn't make sense for them to land in the middle of
a volatile situation in which they might be mobbed.

Are those the choices? It could be that the freighter was planned
from the start and the timing is coincidence.
In any case, I hope and expect that there is more complexity to the
freighter people than that.
Season 4 starts with the close-up on an eye. We pull back to see the
eye goes with a fuzzy white beard, rosy red cheeks, and a crimson
honker.
Turns out Craphole is actually on the North Pole, which explains:
Why no one's found it, and...
Why all the wind and snow in the scene in last year's finale :-)
RWG (well, okay, it's not an Emmy-worthy idea, but it IS better than
"Fred Clause")

I like the reveal at the end of the "Lost Rhapsody" better. (Sayid
uses the trebouchet to launch himself off the island. While in space
he sees the island is being cared on the back of a giant turtle.)
Both of the "Lost Rhapsody" videos are hilarious. I hope there will
be one for the third season.
