What does this have to do with the TV show LOST?
You asked before you even read it. If you had read it all, it would be
clear, why this is included in the LOST forum.
Now go read :)
(There are pictures too LOL)

I've done the reading. Do I need to be using IE rather than Firefox,
because the Julian Date page you sent me to refuses to interact with
Firefox 2.0. There are links and empty boxes, but none of them accept
input?

Maybe Tom. If you already have several browsers installed, then try
several.
I primarily use "Opera ver 8", and the Julian converters work with it just
fine.
The converter may use java or some script language, I dont know. But if
all else fails, the screen captures I posted at the blog, show the
conversion in jpg format.
One other thought. None of the converters listed are mine. Other
converters may work with your browser. Maybe do a google search for other
converters would work for you. I have tried at least 2 different
conversion sites, and always get the same results for Hurley's reversed
numbers: March 4, 1948

I have gone to all the links and I have no idea what this is about.
Are you pointing out that a book appeared in Lost, and that someone
spent time on the ranch where a film version of that book was filmed?
Can you at least offer like three sentences, provide a thesis?
Fascist!
How dare you tell thinblewmine to stop posting!
I find your post insulting and pedantic!
Noob!
(please read the thread called "Out Of Your thinbluemind")
To understand the basis of this post, it is necessary to understand how
4815162342 translates into March 4, 1948. That information is at my blog.
Once that is understood, then the following will make sense.
Briefly, I have shown how 4815162342 translates into the date of March 4,
1948.
With that in mind, Aaron Copland was the music composer for The Red Pony
( this is referenced in the letter dated March 4, 1948 to his children.)
In the letter he mentions he was on the same ranch composing music once
again. The first time was when he composed the music for "Of Mice and Men"
Steinbeck's has written several of the books highlighted on LOST.
Steinbeck's name was a password at "the retrievers of truth" web site
during the summers ARG, The Lost Experience. In a Recent Lost podcast, the
producers revealed they are big fans of Steinbeck (and King).
Both The Red Pony & Of Mice and Men, were written by John Steinbeck.
So a mucic composer for both films, that wrote a letter to his family,
referring to both films, and dated March 4, 1948, is a significant link in
a chain of events that occurred on:
MARCH 4, 1948.
If each of the "March 4, 1948" links at the blog are viewed in a similar
manner as outlined above, the cumulative data will confirm that Hurley's
numbers, in part, definitively can be translated into the date of March 4,
1948.
(How important is music to a theatrical production? Next Lost, turn down
the volume :) )

Yes, I saw your screen shots of the conversion. But I was hoping there
was something more than the "Kevin Bacon game" to your thought process.
(You are striking me as the type of person who would think two actors
have some relationship of cosmic significant relationship because they
are 5 links apart on IMDB.)
I do appreciate your indulging me, because I was genuinely curious.
Oh come on, Ryan's posts *are* insulting and pedantic. He probably
took it as a compliment.
At least thinblue seems to *like* the show. I have no idea why you
hang around. (Not that I am trying to threaten your right to stay --
see below.)

I did read it. It was a great thread to keep the mean people and the
unbalanced ones busy while the rest of us enjoy the Usenet.
But I'll give you that it's amusing to see hysterical free speech
ravings. (As if it was possible to oppress someone on an open Usenet
group.)

Way too much time on your hands dude.
