Looks like an ocean wave that is also a stylized version of the yin/yang
symbol.

My left brain hurts, cause my right brain won't shut up :)
Or an embryo.
My initial impression was that it was a wave, but in looking around
for various versions of the yin/yang, I can definitely see that
influence as well:
Two examples:

And then I came across a page that discusses the possibility of a yin/
yang symbol in Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night." I think Vincent on
"Lost" was named for Van Gogh, and I use a combined image of "Starry
Night" and Vincent on my website about the show ( http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/lostdogon/
). Here is the yin/yang page:

Interesting research tdciago.
Do we have any clues to the names or purpose of the remaining stations on
the island, by way of the blast door map?
This newest station logo is being linked to the orchid station at darkuof.
I just don't see a connection.
Swan, Staff, Flame and Arrow are all identified on the map (assuming
Radzinsky was correct). We also know about the existence of Pearl,
Hydra, and Looking Glass. If we include the center question mark as a
station (possibly Pearl), there are a total of 8, including the one
that was crossed out. I don't know if Hydra and Looking Glass can
even be included on the map, as both are not on the main island, but
zoological research is mentioned.
There are notations about manufacturing light industrial equipment;
meteorological research; cryptography; and study of flora.

I don't either, though people are trying hard to connect the symbol
with an orchid. Even though we know that the name Orchid was a cover-
up for something other than botanical research, one would think that
the Orchid station logo would still reference the flower, to complete
the illusion.
