I think there are perhaps 20 other shows related to the ocean and
islands which could re-run until LOST comes back.
Still say Gilligan's Island would be the Premiere replacement until
LOST returns.

Well how about Lost "reruns" until Lost comes back? Or even better, how
about bringing Lost back sooner, like say January.
Gilligan's Island, Yes, that's the ticket....but just the episodes that
feature GINGER, so you can get a taste of what you missed with Shannon
Rutherford...
Google Gilligan's Isle on wikipedia.....didja know it was based upon the 7
deadly sins? I kid you not :) google it and see.
I still say the Losties are in some sort of hell, in a twilight state or
just dead and dont know it.....All we need to confirm it is the Zombie
season....speaking of Zombie season...go back and watch the ep where Eko
gets smokified.....when his vaccine stealing bandits return to haunt
him... I swear it was a Dawn Of the Dead remake :) are you listening

Being surrounded by water and the soapy love triangle are about the
only thing the two shows have in common ... although some of the older
actors may well have appeared on one / both of the two The Love Boat
shows as well. :-)

How about other shows and movies where people are lost ...
Lost in Space
Castaway
Land of the Lost
Abbott & Costello - Lost in Alaska
...
:-)
I Love Lucy? LOL

> Isn't it odd that none of us asked for re-runs of LOST?
Yes and No, because real fans want to view each episode several times.
Hardcore fans already have because they TiVo or download bootleg copies of
each show.
I frequent one forum where spoilers are banned. Spoilers there include
Official podcasts and Day Break Lost moments and anything uttered by the
Lost producers. Needless to say, they are talking about everything except
LOST (Weather, chemotherapy, Lost Room and Heroes). We/They need new
episodes to keep that community alive. Thank goodness for the wild west
news groups.

Skipper- gluttony
Ginger-lust
Mr. Howell- greed
Those 3 are sort of self evident.
MaryAnn- envy
Mrs. Howell-sloth
The Professor- pride
That leaves Gilligan as anger. Seems unlikely. Not going to look it up
yet but do you agree with these assessments?
You did better then I did, before looking it up :)
But the Skipper was wrath or anger. And for all the work "little buddy"
was forced to do, Gilligan was guilty of sloth.

Gilligan's Island, (1963-1967) - According to the book Inside Gilligan's
Island by Sherwood Schwartz (St. Martin's Press, 1994), the creator of the
show confesses that he purposely patterned the 'seven stranded castaways'
after the seven deadly sins. He confesses that he didn't tell anyone until
years after the show was over, because he thought that people would
ridicule him for attributing such a serious theme to such a silly show.
'The Professor' - pride, 'Mr. Howell (the millionaire)' - greed, 'Ginger
the movie star' - extravagance (later lust), 'Mary Ann' - envy, 'Mrs.
Lovey Howell ' - thoughtless excess or gluttony, 'The Skipper' - wrath,
and 'Gilligan' - sloth.

I already suggested LOST re-runs but people said that was crazy.

OMG I did not know that.. How odd? Guess the writers had some religion
in them or wiskey.
Castaway would never work because it's supporting actor is a freaking
fruit.
The best part of that movie was his making fire. It was boring before
and after that part. Well, him busting out his own tooth with an ice
skate comes in second place.

Weren't they in NYC?
OOPS I forgot, NYC [IS] technically an island.

I asked for reruns of LOST several threads ago, everyone laughed about
it like I was suggesting we all travel to the center of the Sun in a
wooden ship.
We haven't seen season 3 episodes here in New Zeland yet, but they are
re-running season 2 in a late night time slot.
Center of the sun in a wooden ship , huh?
You have got to read "The Smoky God" by Willis Emerson
Now everybody join together and sing! "There's a Hole in the Bottom of the
Sea"! :)

]No it's not.
I think he meant to say, "Manhattan is an Island". We all know that NYC
is not an Island, but a city that consists of five boroughs.

It did end, that's why it's asked for reruns during LOST's little gay
vacation.
Whoever thought up this gay LOST vacation should be fired, shot or
both.

It did end ... but then they made a new version, although that didn't
last as long as the original did.
