We have been told that the smoke monster appeared in season 2 and we may not
have know it...
Do you think it is taking the form of the loved ones??

For Ecko - his brother shows him how to see the "?"
For Hurley, Dave appears on the island

Could the smoke monster be manifesting itself to guide the losties along??

Very interesting theory. But I thought the producers said that Smokey
appeared only in the finale and that we might not have noticed it.

what if the signal fire we *assumed* was set by Sayid, was in fact, the

There was also the horse Kate and Sawyer saw. I think the monster might
of been the bird that swooped down and said Hurley's name.

This reminds me of Michael Crighton's Prey, which involves flying
nanobots which swarm in shapes, including the shapes of people.

weve already seen a "puff of smoke" attach the losties, it makes some
serious strong sounds
and tried to pull Lock in a hole... it's physically been shown as
losties stare at it.

so why would it be Echo or Dave when it's smoke.


as for the puff of smoke at the end of season 2, Sayid lit the fire
because he wanted the losties to join him at the fake base. It was
clear and safe, he wanted them there immediately. Since he knew they
were being led astray. why would micheal send them to an empty base.
simple solution, let em know it's safe.
