Are you referring to "The Eyes Have It" thread?
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.tv.lost/browse_frm/thread/38647f718f200028/eb92e157fe72ede5?q=vagina&rnum=8#eb92e157fe72ede5

Thanks for that screencap. Now I can see that the top part of the
earring is a smaller version of the bottom part, chained to it. Both
resemble eyes. Sirius is known as the eye star, and has a smaller,
invisible companion star called Sirius B, which is "chained" to it by
an elliptical orbit.

Another possible interpretation for Rose (Rhea) is that Saturn's moon
Rhea is called Saturn V, and it's "chained" to Saturn by gravitational
pull. Note that the "eyes" have five "lashes."

Any chance you can get a good shot of the pattern on her blouse? I
think it had concentric circles and some other intriguing patterns.

Picture of Front or back of the blouse?
I noticed the back had a kinda afro design feel to it, resembled oceanic
airline logo.

Thanks. Yup, has an Oceanic feel to it. Concentric circles, and
"satellites" around a central circle.

I think its an indian bear claw (upside down). Paw pad in middle with claws
at the end. Sorry make that - "native american" bear claw.

I think this is reaching. The earrings look to me like stylized claws, from
some kind of animal...lion...tiger...whatever. I'm going out on a limb. I
don't think there is any meaning to this or the pattern of Rose's louse
either. Getting carried away...

Excellent catch. Take a look at this:
http://thesilverlining.easystorecreator.net/images/images_24673/Indian/indianusa011_thmbnl.jpg

Four of the claws go in the same direction, and the outer one goes in
the opposite direction. Rose's shirt had feathers on it, too, tying in
with the Native American theme.

From
http://ottawa.rasc.ca/kid_space/activities/young_observers/1999_november/constellation.html
:

"The Pleiades (aka The Seven Sisters)

This star cluster that look like a tiny little dipper has about 400
stars that formed together in one huge gas cloud around 20 million
years ago. That is young compared to most stars that we see. They were
not even there when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Most people can see six stars with their naked eyes, but some people
with exeptional eyesight can see seven stars. The Pleiades are also
known as the Seven Sisters.

According to a Native American legend, the Pleiades are connected with
Devil's Tower, that famous rock formation in Wyoming (remember the
movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind?")

As in the Native American's lore, the Devil's Tower was raised up by
the Great Spirit to protect seven Native American maidens who were
about to be killed by a giant bear (Ursa Major). The maidens were
placed in the sky for protection and the bear's claw marks can still be
seen on the sides of Devil's Tower. They remained in the sky staying
close together and the seventh sister is hard to see because she really
wants to go back to Earth, and her tears dim her luster."

I've mentioned the Pleiades before, in conjunction with the blast door
map. Rose's earrings have a big claw and a little claw (Ursa Major and
Ursa Minor?). The mythological origin of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor can
be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callisto_(mythology)

Ignore overall scene, but look at wall hanging in relation to floor lamp.
It doesn't take a great deal of imagination to see a space ship hoovering
over a desert landscape, does it? :)

Ha! :) That is really funny. When I first saw that picture in the
hatch, even without the "spaceship," it reminded me of Devil's Tower.
And Ayers Rock gave me that same kind of feeling.

I've mentioned before about harmonic resonance and the musical octave
playing a part in "The Sirius Mystery" (and of course, music was vital
in "Close Encounters"). So I found it very cool that Bernard had the
musicians come to the table when he proposed to Rose.

From
http://mysite.verizon.net/bonniehill/pages.aux/meta/nichomachus.html :

"Among objects of perception, the music of the planets is considered to
be the prototype of our music according as we imitate it

It is probable that the names of the notes were derived from the seven
stars which traverse the heavens and travel around the earth. All
swiftly whirling bodies necessarily produce sounds. These sounds differ
from one another because the planets differ in size, speed, and
position.

The planets are related to notes in the following manner:
Planet Name of Note Pitch
Kronos (Saturn; Phainon, "shining one") hypate (highest up) E
Zeus (Jupiter; Phaethon, "brilliant one") parhypate F
Ares (Mars; Pyroeis, "fiery one") lichanos or hypermese G
Helios (Sun) mese (middle) A
Hermes (Mercury; Stilbon, "gleaming one") paramese or trite B flat
Aphrodite (Venus; Phosphoros, "light bearer") paranete C
Selene (Moon) nete (lowest) D

This scale structure covers the total range of a minor seventh or one
whole tone less than an octave.

Nichomachus' system is a geocentric one in which the distances of the
planets are calculated from the Earth as the center of the universe."

(The ancient Greeks knew of 7 planets.)

Thanks for the cool screencap!

Please refresh my memory as to what thread that was.

There are several scientific allusions found in the Bible eg. the
earth's water cycle (Ecclesiates 1:7), earth is spherical (Job 26:10;
Isaiah 40:21-22) and suspended in space (Job 26:7), the stars of
Pleiades are gravitationally bound while the stars of Orion are not
gravitationally bound (Job 38:31-32):

Job 38:
31 Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of
Orion?
32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out
the Bear with its cubs?
