For those who are interested, I've made a screencap of what some
believe is a hooded figure in Pilot, Part 1. Kate and Jack run past
this figure standing in the jungle just after the monster attacks the
cockpit. The file is available here:

http://www.forgewebdev.com/Lost/Pilot1/Hooded_Figure_Pilot1.gif

The figure is near the upper right. Note that some insist there's
also a hooded figure in Solitary when Sayid first hears the whispers.

Huh. Could be, or it could just be a trick of the light.

Looks like another member of the crew that we weren't supposed to
notice. Either that, or one of "The Others" watching their "security
system" at work.

Hi J,

This looks like Charlie to me or am I not looking in the right place?

Look to the right in the background, off of the path that Kate, Jack
and Charlie are running along.

I see it now. Thanks Jason. I agree with your assessment as either a crew
member or an Other.

..I don't know... Perhaps I'm going blind, but other than the 2 people
in the middle, I can't see anything resembling a hooded figure.

Looks like Gandalf or an Ewok! Or someone blowing through a horn to make
the monster's trumpet sound.

Was there any shots during that sequence from this figure's POV? If so,
it's probably a camera guy wearing a rain coat.

Okay - brain cramp. Who is the guy all in black running behind Jack?

I believe that's Charlie. I remember he was in dark clothes; jack was
in a white T.

More evidence that you are in fact going blind: there are three people
running in the middle!!! :) Seriously, check it out again.

There is definitely someone standing there in
a hooded rain coat/poncho but I'm going to guess
that it's probably just someone from the crew in
the wrong place at the wrong time.

Got any pics? Was it also raining when Sayid
was stumbling around in the jungle?

I see no hooded figure, but even with Steadicam, I gotta admire the
camera work, walking backward over such brush.

I think it is that little "nut case" === OPUS!

I am sure he is the only one of them that could get lost in a phone
booth.

I did see the "figure" in the original link -after about 15 cycles,
that is. If it isn't just random shapes, I'd say it's another
production person in a raincoat and hat.

I noticed that, too, before I read your post. That's the one I
spotted first before I saw the raingear-clad figure. It looks like
he's on Jack's left side to start with, then gets farther behind.

It's a crane shot.

It's a camera operator. Once again, this is what happens when you shoot
in one ratio, 16:9, but broadcast mostly in another 4:3. I don't have
and HDTV so I never saw that hooded figure off to the side because that
part of the 16:9 frame is missing on a 4:3 TV.

If they just letterboxed the episodes for regular TVs then they would
pay more attention to these crew gaffes.

You sure? That's a long way for a crane to back up without disturbing
the brush over a wider area or leaving tracks in the wet earth.

There's another hooded figure!

I thought I'd transplant this from the "mechanical monster" thread:

>> From finale:

In that link showing the smoke wave in the finale, there's a hooded
figure on the left side of the picture, about 1 inch down and 1 inch to
the right. He's best visible when the smoke leaves the scene.

These figures remind me of Rayden from Mortal Kombat.

I'm suddenly seeing a pattern. Anyone else?

There's nothing there but leaves.

I just rewatched the pilot last night and I'm 100% sure the guy in the
back in the hood is Charlie. After he falls down and Jack comes and
helps him up he meets Kate hiding in the trees (startles her really) and
he has his hood up.
