I was thinking it didn't crash into the ocean, that what's-his-face
did an emergency landing, the location of which we saw later.-GJ
Another simple explanation - for budget reasons they only have one
helicopter they can film...
That's silly, and they could always create a second one with cgi.
Or the splash was them dumping cargo that Naomi was taking with her.

We must change the way we live,
or the climate will do it for us.
The one problem with your post is the word "saw". We never saw a
helicopter splash into the ocean. I don't think there was ever more
than on 'copter. The 2nd landing pad's a bluff.

Depending on when the scene occured, the other chopper could have been
in use at the time...
RWG (like when the freighter is close to the given location of
Craphole, Naomi was out doing grid sweeps)
Except there's no room for a second helicopter on that deck, even a CGI
one. As discussed in an earlier thread, there's just no practical way to
get a helicopter on and off that forward pad.
There are at least three explanations.
1. It's a mystery to be addressed in a later episode (and it had
better be a really good explanation).
2. It's a production limitation. Even Lost has them, and
remember that the Kahala/Kahana is a real ship that doesn't
normally sport one helicopter, let alone two.
3. It's all a con. (c) robgood.

Number 2 is the most plausible explanation.

Maybe it is the same chopper, but due to the time difference, the others landed waaaaaay later?
