Some have compared the present state of the USA to the decline of the
Roman Empire.

I don't live in Sacramento, California [the state capital] nor have I
been there for many years.

But I hear their news on the radio.


I posted recently about the city deficit.

Sacramento has a professional basketball team the Kings.

The mayor Kevin Johnson used to be a professional basketball player.

He's now in his second term.

And his major agenda has been to keep thr Kings in Sacramento regardless
of the cost. Whatever it takes like building a new arena, raising taxes
etc..

But the owners of the team the Malouff brothers want out and Seattle
wants the team to move there.

On the radio news right now they said that some basketball committee
that determines where teams play are voting right now on whether to
approve the move.


Sacramento is in debt but must have its sports!

Does it generate more revenue than it costs?

I don't know. It just often interferes with my regular radio and tv
programs.
