I went to Walmart this morning. The cash register clerk was a brown
female in her 20s. The person ahead of me in line was a brown female in
her 20s.

She paid with two $20 bills. The clerk closely examined the bills.
Holding it up to the light etc..

I paid with a $20 bill. No problem at all. The clerk did not check it
out.

My personal wish is that next time you ask the question as neutrally
as possible, somethig like, "May I please ask why you inspected the
previous customers Federal Reserve Note and not mine? Or whatever
question would fit the circumstances you're in at the time. Please
make sure not to give the game away by mentioning anything about
race. It would be interesting to know what they'll say. And please
let us know the results, no matter how it goes.

Also the clerk asked the customer if she wanted to contribute to some
hospital charity Walmart is supporting. She declined. The clerk did not
ask me.

Years ago I was going into some store and there was an Hispanic guy all
dressed in white with a can outside the door wanting donations. It had
to be some religious group. Another Hispanic was arguing with him in
Spanish. All I could understand it was something about the Virgin of
Guadalupe. The other Hispanic - the one not dressed in white - was
defending her.

When I came out they were still arguing. The guy in white seeing me must
have thought that I a white guy might be more charitable and broke off
the conversation and came towards me. But having heard the conversation
before and knowing he was non Catholic even anti Catholic - he had
insulted the BVM - I a white guy said to him - LA MORENITA ES MI MADRE
TANBIEN. "The little dark one [i.e. the Virgin of Guadalupe] is my
Mother also!"
