Lennie had two daughters. I don't know if they had the same mother or
not.
I might be misremembering but I don't think Lennie married Gwen (Munch's
ex) - I think he just dated/slept with her (which was enough for Munch).

But where's the joke when it really happened on the show?
Someone thought they'd cooked up a memorable situation, making a joke of
it. But since there was a daughter on the show, and she did die, it
negates the joke, since there's no "what if".
