After responding in another thread with this link,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stump_v._Sparkman I was reminded of a
question that was asked in the ep about people having a right to raise
their children as they see fit. Makes me wonder if Stump v Sparkman
has RFTH potential.
I also started thinking about how different that ep, from season 2
was. Much more discussion about issues about the law. We even got to
see a little voir dire.
It wasn't just my memory, the show has changed. We get far less of
this today. Less about issues and more about procedure perhaps? Or
maybe not even that. More about how people deal with things and less
about the law. I think.
How far can people go in what they do with their kids? Raise them to
believe certain things? Probably. Sterilize them? Maybe. And if
they can do that, can they euthanize them? I think Ben Stone asked if
kids can be set out to be exposed to the elements in the ep.
Got me thinking.
