8/25 National Nielsen Ratings for Simpsons and King of the Hill
Ondre Lombard
Both programs outranked The Xfiles (often Fox's highest rated
program). The Simpsons gained a 6.9/13 rating for "Homer's Phobia" and King
of the Hill got a 6.9/12 rating for "The Order of the Straight Arrow."
Stay tuned next week for "In Marge We Trust" and "King of the Ant
Hill."

It was about homo-phobia. The Simpson's meet a guy in a "used stuff" store
who charms the whole family with his enthusiasm. Homer wants to have him
over for dinner and then finds out from Marge what was obvious to every-
one else - the guy's gay. Homer refuses to have contact with him but the
rest of the family goes out for an afternoon with him. Now Homer thinks
he has to de-gay Bart so he takes him deer hunting and ends up getting
attacked by reindeer. Guess who saves him - the guy dude.

I think you're right. Hank is a bit up tight but can deal with most things
(unless they have to do with his bowels). I can imagine Dale's reaction

I'm not so sure about this. I think Hank's *initial* reaction would be
interesting, not-so-accepting--and hysterical on his part.

I really like those "I tell you whut" (note the spelling!) ads of Hank's.
And there was none Sunday night during the Simpsons!! They should be a
permanent fixture, definitely (Mike Judge, are you listening?!)...

The Simpsons meet someone new at the Springfield Mall who is running a
nostalgia store. They invite him over to dinner (eventually), and
everything is Kosher until Homer finds out the new guy is gay. After
finding this out, Homer gets extremely paranoid and even suspects Bart is
gay. The rest of the episode is spent trying to "straighten" Bart out.

Saw the piercing one. Was very witty. I wish I'd been taping. I'm a big fan
of the little bits while they run the credits, good stuff. I liked the one
where he talked about being partially nude.
