S shield is much too small, trunks are too low, neckline is too high and the
boots are too short. I can't say that I'm all that thrilled. (red is a bit
dark too)

I agree with all the things you listed.. except I dislike the blue too.
I'm not overly fond of casting decision made either, there was much
better available, IMO. But at this point, I'm glad things worked out
as they did.

I've never heard it confirmed that BR is gay, not that I think it makes
a difference.
I was a big supporter of TW getting this role as well.. until I saw
that suit.
Tom's starring in a remake of John Carpenter's "The Fog" to be released
this October. No tights.. but at least there's a shower scene.
See? Sometimes things work out for a reason. :D

Ah yes, but the new movie is not about Smallville's super*boy*, it is
about Super*man* and *that* TW is indeed, oh yeah. :)
It's just me...
May not be anything wrong with it but it can affect the
final product. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin are
two of the gayest films I've ever seen and I have no
doubt Shumacher's sexuality played its role in making
them so.

Actually I didn't mind the nipples and even liked some
of the Batman costume designs he did. I liked them
more than the new bat costume minus said nipples.
Why oh why can't they make a more traditional Batman
costume? One that doesn't scream rubber and leather
body armour. What I didn't like was the horrible,
gaudy, silly, over-the-top gagfest that was the
Schumacher Batman as Gay symbol films that these
costumes appeared in.

I like the new Batman costume. Very rugged and dangerous looking. I
can't wait for the new Batman movie. Between that, and Serenity, I'm a
happy movie fan this year. Oh, and also The Fog.
Didja hear that they are going to show an 8 minute trailer of the new
Batman Begins movie during the season finale of Smallville?

One thing I love is, they're saying that the suit evolves through different
things he's exposed to in his training and life. As well, everything (even
the ears on the cowl) serve a purpose.

Seriously, I didn't detect a lot of gay content in the X-Men films, so
I'm not sure it's a fair cop to say that his sexuality had to do with
his casting.
And for all I know, Tom Welling (also a former male model) is gay too.

According to him, he was the worst model ever. :)
He's also been married to his long-time girlfriend (also a former
model) since 2002. I know.. that doesn't always mean anything, but in

those who hides it behind a very pretty wife.
It's just me...
Liked the concept, liked the choice of director and didn't mind
the casting. I was overall somewhat optimistic of the new
Batman....then I started seeing the production designs.
What I've seen of the visual design of this movie is very
dissappointing. The Bat suit is fair at best and the
Batmobile is a crying shame. I'll see it and reserve final
judgement but my hopes of a somewhat faithful Batman done in
live action are still going to be vastly unfulfilled. Oh
well, I'll still have the DVD season sets of the animated
series to look forward to. I was also a bit excited when
I heard Schumacher and Kilmer were taking over Batman.
From past movies such as Lost Boys and Flatliners he seemed
he had the right dark, moody, and stylish flair...which he
threw out the window and made a gay circus instead.

I'm kind of doubting that sexual preference had anything to do with the size
of those gay li'l red trunks ... except perhaps the sexual preference of the
costume designer. Or lack of good taste. Or sense. Good grief. They wouldn't
look so ridiculous if they weren't over tights. What's the point of
way-brief trunks if they're not exposing actual flesh?

Well the costume desginer doesn't act on their own. They work with input
from the director, and he gets final approval.

So here we have a probable case of bad taste on the part of two people ... a
costume designer and a director. I'm still thinking sexual preference of
anyone involved doesn't necessarily contribute to just how *dumb* these
trunks look over blue long johns. It's just sad. All the money in the world
and *this* is what they came up with. I remember Christopher Reeves' first
Superman flick ... and the ad was "You will believe a man can fly." This is
going to be "You're not going to believe how he's got up."
