Actually, its 5000+. I don't remember which episode, but Methos comments

that he can't remember his childhood. Probally too much partying with
Kronos and the boys.

It is in the Ep Methos he tells Mac that he took his first head 5000 years
ago.  I would think he did that before he met up with Kronos and the rest.

He took his first head about 5,000 years ago and the rest before that is just a
blur. I think when he rode with Kronos, Silas and Caspian he was already about
2,000. Boy... he must have had a
fun adolescence...<snerk>.  Or was it an angry one?
