Alexis Bledel's Big Weekend Out In New York City

When we last heard of Alexis Bledels' (Rory on Gilmore Girls) whereabouts,
she was filming "The Conspirator" in Savannah, Georgia much to the
excitement of the locals. However, this past weekend, Alexis traded in her
period piece dresses for a much chic-er look as she made her way to New York
City for several very fun events. In the below photo [at the link; doesn't
look very "chic" to me], she's at the Alice and Olivia pop-up store opening
at fancy boutique SCOOP.
That same night, she went to the WIRED pop-up party, where Jared Eng (aka
"Just Jared") tweeted she thought the music Moby was spinning was "too
aggressive". If that wasn't enough, on that same night Alexis was
photographed on the red carpet at the 25th anniversary of Indochine.
Finally, lest you think she took a break, Alexis was spotted heading
into the next night's SNL taping with Gilmore Girls co-star Krysten Ritter!
*** Why is there taping if SNL is supposed to be live????

While it's broadcast live on the East Coast, it's tape-delayed on the
West Coast. Hence, it really *is* a taping even when broadcast live.
Even the Today Show is taped.

Also the stuff like the digital shorts are done in advance.
There is no way they could do the animation for the "Ex Presidents"
live.
Also wouldn't they tape rehearsals to if the results are
up to snuff?

Just a thought -- maybe Alexis and Krysten were going in to sit and
watch , and not actually be ON the show. Haven't heard one way or the other,
yet.

They *do* always tape the rehearsals. Sometimes, the rehearsal
version (which is done for a different audience) of a given sketch is
substituted into the West Coast feed when they decide that the live
East Coast version sucked. Also, if they decide later that the live
version (not subbed for the West) sucked, they'll put the rehearsal
version of the sketch into the syndication/DVD version of the episode.
