So when do we find out that Sam is actually the sister that John McBain thinks that Sonny killed?

We don't unless they really take a hatchet to history. (Which has been done before.) Sam has related all her tales of growing up with no mention of a brother named John. Remember her brother, Danny? She adored Danny and took care of him as best she could under the not so ideal conditions they grew up in. I think she'd remember if John had been involved. And John seems to have known and loved his sister so he'd know if it were Sam.
