I do not Liz at all and am not very crazy about the actress herself,
but, retelling the rape story actually made me tear up.

The retelling scene was interesting but it seemed out of place to me.
Why did they feel the need to tell all that to Rebecca? I wanted
Rebecca to say "Yeah, that's a really sad story but what does that
have to do with you cheating on Lucky now with his brother?" I assume
it was done to garner sympathy for Liz from the viewers who didn't
already know the story but telling it at that particular time didn't
make sense to me.

Sympathy for Liz? The writers should have considered that retelling
could create more sympathy for Lucky. That's what it did for me.
Remembering what he did for her, makes my opinion of her drop even lower.

Well, "she" was raped. That should be worth a note of sympathy anyway
- for what happened to her then. Certainly it doesn't excuse what
she's doing now. Which is why I wanted Rebecca to point that out! What
a missed opportunity!!

I thought it was a desperate attempt on Liz's part to stop Rebecca from
telling Lucky about Liz and Nik. It worked. I do believe that Liz loves
Lucky and always will but that is just more reason for her to be honest with
him. I don't thnk Lucky will ever hate her or walk away from her
completely...yes, he would be devestated but he would survive it and
continue to be there for the children. As for Rebecca..if she really wants
Lucky, she probably realized that spilling the truth at that moment wouldn't
have been the way to get him lol

It was done purely to take advantage of the fact that after three
incarnations of Lucky they are back to the one with whom the rape scenes
were filmed. That means they can save money by reusing the old scenes and
not having to pay actors to shoot new ones. They obviously assume that lots
of old viewers are thrilled to have Lucky as played by JJ back, and that
they will be thrilled to see the old scenes.

You're right that it was totally inappropriate to be telling Rebecca that
stuff, especially since she is leaving and has absolutely no reason to know
it.

Rebecca said that, after hearing all that, she now understands the
connection they all have to Emily. Huh? The story was all about Liz
and Lucky. Liz and Emily weren't even friends at that point, were
they? I just don't get it. It seemed self-indulgent and confusing -
especially if they weren't going to have Rebecca call them out on what
they're doing to each other now.

I think that Liz is acting so uncomfortable and so on edge, that
sooner or later Lucky's going to drag the truth out of her if she
doesn't just blurt it out herself. I wish Rebecca would shut up,
though. There are children involved if this engagement dissolves due
to the affair with Nik. That's their UNCLE for cripes sakes. Not over
cheating, but I've been threatened over the years by women before
regarding men. I bugs me when Elizabeth just stands there. I wish
she'd stand up for herself; not stoop to their level, but basically
tell them to mind their own business and send them a clear cut message
that "when we decide that our business is your business, we'll send
your a** a postcard and let you know, until then, butt out and get a
life of your own, Lady." :-)
