- When Rod told him to "come on down," Joseph passed Contestants' Row and ran
up stage to Bob Barker, who took quite a while to explain that he had to win
the bidding to play a pricing game. (What did he think he was on, the syndie
TPiR '94? :-))
- When Joseph finally found his way to CR, when asked to place his bid, he
yelled in the funniest voice I ever heard, "SIX!" (Six what? Actually, he
meant $600)
- Joseph actually won the bidding and got on a pricing game, of which I mostly
missed due to my channel surfing inclination. But the parts I did see saw
Joseph largely mess up. (BTW, it was the game where they give you four numbers
and you have to take two or more to name the price of certain objects...
unfortunately, the name escapes my memory)
At this point, I was actually rooting for Joseph to go to the Showcase. What
and Underdog story that would be!
- Anyways, Joseph goes on to the showcase showdown, but sadly, he doesn't win
and go to the showcase....but not before FALLING ON HIS BUTT after spinning the
wheel! HO! HO! HO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else catch this? I say we start a Joseph Fan Club! Or at least
petition to have him make a return appearance on the show
J.F.
-Joseph played Ten Chances. It took him three guesses to get the first
item correct, to which Bob Barker replied: "I think Joseph was the only
person in this studio that didn't know the [item, i forget what it was]
was 25$." Then he used up all the rest of his chances without even
getting the second item. I think he may have guessed the same number
twice(Bob said, "Now Joseph, look back at your other guesses!" - I love
the tone Bob takes when he gets gets frustrated with hopeless contestants)
-Then after the commercial, Bob once again proves that he is the king of
all game show hosts: "We've gotten Joseph some oxygen...he's going to
hang around long enough to spin the big wheel, then his wife's going to
take him to a rest home."
-When Joseph went to spin, Bob introduced him: "Here comes Joseph, king
of the Ten Chances gam...whoa!"(when Joseph fell)
BTW, did anybody notice how conservative Joseph's second spin was?
But just as an editorial remark, this is testimony to the pure genius
surrounding this show. Obviously, whoever chooses the contestants noticed
that this guy would be perfect. And then Bob Barker did a perfect job in
making him even more hilarious. It's going to be a sad day when this show
leaves the air.
Anxiously awaiting the anniversary show,
