Everyone,

According to the "Game Show Convention Center" NBC seems to be considering
a Primetime Million Dollar Pyramid, even before the pilot of the daytime
syndicated version begins.

The payoff system would be the same as the $25,000 Pyramid and that during
rating sweeps weeks they will have a Tournament of Champions, a la the
$100,000 Pyramid.

Jason Alexander is being considered as host.

"Never do ANYTHING small." is a rule I live by. It's a nice idea that,
after a decade, two versions of the PYRAMID might grace the airwaves. Looks
like that CD with the clean version of the theme came out just in the nick
of time. ;)

On a personal note, I was a contestant in 1978. I lost. If at first I
don't succeed...

If anyone is attending one of the pilot tapings, please share the details.

No, not "according to the Game Show Convention Center" --
all Beverly did was pass along a rumor he read in
Broadcasting and Cable, he didn't independently verify
anything. And it's worth mentioning that, shortly after the
Woolery pilot was taped, Columbia Tri-Star issued forth a
press release that Pyramid would indeed return to the
airwaves fall 98.

Hmmm... he's at least played the game, and didn't do so badly that I
remember how he did. Always a good start.

And I was hoping for Jimmy Kimmel (as he has cross training with
category titles a la WBSM). Peter Tomarken would be a good Pyramid
choice also (or am I the only one that sees PT doing Pyramid).

No reason why he couldn't, but then there's no real reason why he would,
either.

He might have been good. Too bad he is under contract to Fox.

Come to think of it, Kimmel is *exactly* who I had in mind...

You're not alone, my friend. I've stated many times over that Peter
would make a great 'Pyramid' host, but it looks like my pleas have
fallen on deaf ears again.

Oh well, there's always 'Name That Tune, 2001.'

Remember You Should See The Pyramid Shrine Site Part of My Game Show
Website, and sometimes I Think Steve Beverly is Wrong on His Game Show
Reporting. Oh Yes The URL For The Pyramid Shrine Site is:

Put a Section on The $1,000,000 Pyramid When I Get Some News From
Probably Randy Amasia or Steve Beverly When it Becomes Available.
