There are so many that I like, like Zach Horan's punny ZHIFOS alerts
(where he titles one a Match Game ZHIFOS alert, and tells us that a
contestant had made a match on that day's episode), "What game shows
are taping at the World Trade Center right now?" that was posted just
2 days after 9/11, the hat putato posts, which actually carried over
from the 1990s (and I intend for them to carry over into the next
decade), Dan "hat putato originator" Harrisfield creating many more
trolling aliases (Scott Duran, Z79B, etc) and bringing Pete Sweat back
for one day in 2000, asking what game shows a recently departed
celebrity will host, asking when a recently departed celeb's corpse
will go to Vince's offices and sign with WWE, asking what game shows a
non game show hosting celebrity hosted, asking when a celebrity who
had never even competed in WWE actually wrestled for WWE, making up
stories about unusual things on game shows (like Bob Barker telling
Rich Fields to go fuck himself, Vanna kicking Pat, Pat spanking Vanna
for forgetting to turn a letter), etc. And the trolls will also win
an award. The former ATGS regulars who left for Invision will thank
us for giving them the idea to go to a forum where they don't have to
put up with us. So look at those ATGS/APWW/RSPW/RATV archives and
pick out your favorite troll post that took place between January 1,
2000 and December 31, 2009.

Did anyone troll RSPW after the Benoit murders? I recall it not being
as much of that as the infamous Owen trolls.

The whole point of troll posts is to avoid them like the proverbial
plague. Even when amusing they induce vomiting.

I miss the UA. Even when they were trolling they were funny as hell. I
know I have said that a million times but....

My personal favorites were the "What game show is (fill in name of
recently deceased celebrity)'s corpse going to host?" guy, and 7-8
years ago there was a lady who posted at rec.arts.past-films quite
regularly (and crossposted here too I think) who went by Pamela Dean
and several other handles, but had an unhealthy fixation on Vic
Morrow, and you could always tell her posts because she always
referred to him as Victor "Vic" Morrow..

The current guy who says "[insert celebrity name here] gives birth to
a [boy/girl] BASSTURD (also spelled BA$$TURD)" and copies and pastes
the article from a legitimate source.

That guy who stopped a year ago every night 'The Simpsons' was on
saying: "The Simpsons Go To Booooger King toonite -- Bart lurns the
importince of a dollur"

I can't do it as well he can, but you get the idea.

There is that guy over at alt.obituaries who creates a new posting and
all he does is list the 100 top newspapers and their circulation
totals for the US and worldwide and other news outlets. I'm not
exactly sure what medications he is on.

Oh, you remind me!

The dude that posts the original obituary for comedian Gerry "Red"
Wilson, who appeared in the short-lived sitcom "That's Life" and made
a one-time appearance on the failed "Fantasy Island" remake, *every*
year on the day of his death.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0933454/

There's a dude on the IMDb message board who posts the subject line:
"Jack Nicholson warned him/her"

Whenever any celeb dies.

---

While filming a guest spot for ABC's "Fantasy Island" revival, stand-
up comic and former school teacher Gerry Red Wilson died of
undiagnosed meningitis on November 21, 1998. He was 37 years old.
Earlier that year, he starred in the short-lived ABC sitcom "That's
Life."

I remembered him doing it for South Park..."South Park Night at
Boooooger King" or something like that.

There is the guy currently over at rec.sport.baseball for the last
year or so named weheardthenews who upon the death of any famous
person makes a post with the title "(fill in famous person's name)'s
last words" and the post is "Pete Rose should be in the Hall of
Fame." And if you respond unfavorably to his post he suddenly becomes
Mr. Ad Hominem and asks if your mom is still sleeping with barnyard
animals or some similar attack of the messenger. He pretty much drove
away all the regulars over there. And if there are no famous people
deaths for more than two days, he puts words in the mouths of people
long since dead who died before Pete Rose was even born, or
nonexistant people, such as "Retro: Sherlock Holmes last words".

And of course the immortal Tony Gaza over in the rec.arts.past films
newsgroup, who now changes his name quite often. He has been over
there for at least ten years or more, and seldom does his posts have
anything to do with movies.

1st Decade of the Millenium = 2001-2010?

When does that monolith thing appear up on Europa and start doing it's
thing?

Gatorade has cancelled their "Tiger Woods" energy drink. I wonder why.
If it gives you that much energy they'll sell a ton.

What about the "(insert name) shits his/her pants"? Even Randy West
(the announcer on NewlyWed Game) said he liked those.

Me.

I've even been told me name "troy" is pronounced "troll" in French.
Which is ironic because I'm not trying to troll - just being very
opinionated. Maybe it's like leadership. The best leader is the man
who doesn't want to lead - the best troll is the man who isn't even
trying.

(ducks spitball)

Yes...save for the time when someone said that West himself shit his
pants. He even ordered Bartram to stop accusing him of shitting
himself.
