Nothing was cut from the Xmas episode in order to get it broadcast. We
voluntarily tried to keep the violence comedic (like the diaper truck
explosion), but that's a matter of our own sense of what tone of the show
should be.

I agree that the episode seems pretty tame (violence-wise) compared to what has
been seen in some segments of "Itchy & Scratchy", for example, on the Simpsons.
My best understanding of FOX's objection to showing it at 7 PM is that they
fear the very specific image of Santa Claus (or even a robotic version thereof)
committing violent acts could be upsetting to younger kids who might be
watching during the early time slot.

Personally, I don't mind that it was on at 9:30, since there's a bigger
audience available at that hour, including potentially some viewers who aren't
watching at 7 and might realize they like the show. I just wish FOX had found
a time slot for it last year instead of putting it off.

Thanks for the response!

This is a good point. On a sort-of-related note, that's the same reason
that Walt Disney chose to remove a scene from Fantasia way back in 1940
which showed Mickey actually chopping one of the brooms with an ax in "The
Sorceror's Apprentice." It was replaced by a shot of the action happening
in shadow form only.

Likewise. It's very cool to have someone associated with a show give
us their view on something.
Excellent program, Mr. Cohen! Thanks!
