Hey, these stats are cool and all, but how does this NG compare to others?
I'd like to see a table of stats like this for the entire alt.tv hierarchy
please. Or at least the animated show related groups.

Get going....

Rather pathetically, really. The amount of posts is still only in the
double digits. (sigh)

Give it time. Once the second season starts and people realize the show is here to stay, it get a larger fan base. As well, is there any mention of this newsgroup on the futurama web pages?

He does it for alt.tv.simpsons too. Of course, that's more interesting due
to the higher volume over there.

I'm _third_???

Jesus, can someone get me a life, please? I think I left one in the corner
next to my skateboard. No, no. Behind the stack of F1 Racing magazines -
careful, don't knock over the pile of as-yet-unfolded laundry.

What do you _mean_ it's gone??

The saddest thing? I consider this one of my low-posting NGs (out of seven
right now).

Yeah, unless Billy West gets run over by a bus, the show should last at
least 3 seasons. The thing is, I can keep up with the traffic in five
minutes. It's just not challenging enough...

When <alt.tv.simpsons> started out, it too had a small subscriber base, with
posts in the double digits. (Of course, the internet as a whole was smaller
then.) Come to think of it, a.t.s. has seen a lot of growth in just three
years. It used to be you could make Dave's Top 40 list with twenty posts.
That won't cut it these days.

My point is, the group may be small today, but who knows what the future
holds for <alt.tv.futurama>? If the show lasts a few more seasons, as it
should, we'll soon have a non-pathetic number of posts -- and we'll all be
pining away for the good old days when we could keep up with the traffic on
this group!

If the growth in the number of usenet posts is anything like the
proliferation of websites, this newsgroup could easily be heavily
trafficked before too long. I recall when there were only two Futurama
websites out there (one of them mine). Those were the days...

Of course, we didn't have the show back then. So upon further review,
those days sucked.
