what is the name of the blond space captain???

For some reason, Phil Hartman's name came up in conversation last night and I
mentioned that originally he was supposed to do the voice of the blond space
captain on Futurama, and then we all blanked on the character's name. I'm
referring to the guy who wears the really short space suit, always hits on
Leela, and hangs out with Kif. This is bugging us! Help!

In every major article ever made about the show it's spelled Zapp, all the
way back to WIRED.(it was a picture caption)
