OT: Bravo - Top Chef Texas

What a huge group. After the first competition night, there are 11
candidates who have received their chef coats (meaning they are in the
final 16 to compete this season) with 5 "on the bubble" and a whole
other group still to go. With only 5 spots left (apparently), the
last group and the "bubblers" don't have very good odds of making it.
SO glad to see the first "chef" leave - he was so plastic and had such
a huge ego. I don't know why he volunteered to butcher that section
of the pig, either, as he confessed he ordered his meats already cut
to his specifications. The poor girl who had the chopped up
tenderloin was lucky to end up on the bubble, IMO.
It was certainly an interesting beginning - and especially seeing Hugh
there as a judge.
