I now face the obvious decision: Should I continue writing this series?
I love writing about Fraser and Abby, and I now have a new character to paly
around, their daughter Hannah. I've enjoyed writing all of the situations
they've been in, from their abductions to the birth of their child. This
series has been incredibly entertaining, in my opinion, but I feel I've taken
the characters as far as they can go, for now.
Fraser and Abby were both sold into slavery. That is the basis for this
series, the thread that ties them together. I feel I've taken that one thread
as far as it can go. I've resolved Fraser's problems, given him a loving wife
and companion, returned him to the Territories, and given him a family. I've
resolved Abby's problems, taken her away from the abusive past she'd endured,
and given her a loving, supportive hudband and family. I feel that this is as
far as the series can go, in this area.
However, as the readers, I'm leaving it up to you to decide. Do you want to
see these characters together, again?
I must warn you, though, that, if I continue this series, it's likely to become
somewhat of a soap opera. As I've already resolved the main characters' main
conflicts, it would be difficult to continue without the drama playing too
heavily.
As the reader, it's your choice. I won't be writing anything else in theis
series, any time soon, but, if you choose, I will continue, in the future.
Please reply on the newsgroup, or Email me directly.
As it is being left up to you I'll give you another choice, as well. If any
readers would like to suggest situations, events, problems, etc., I'd be
willing to make a note of them, for future reference. Any suggestion will be
given due credit, if used in a future story. Please reply on the newsgroup, or
Email me directly with your suggestions.
That's it, folks. That's all I have to say. It's difficult to continue this
series, without creating new problems for the characters to deal with. If
that's what you want, I'll continue. Please, give me your honest opinion.
If that question doesn't appeal to you, how about this one: How long can I keep
going on referring to them as "Bastards," before someone decides to come at me
with an otter? *grin*
Thank you, kindly, for your time.

Well, obviously, I adored the series--
(Sasscat's good twin comes flying out of nowhere. "What do you mean
'obviously'? You suck at feedback!"
Sasscat looks uncomfortable... "Yes, but... I *meant* to feedback..."
The good twin scoffs.)
Yes, well, the point is, I did adore it. But at a certain point every
story has to end. I'm very aware of this as an author, when people ask
for sequels to stories that I feel really shouldn't go on... I think
this series has had its closure.
That said, I certainly wouldn't object to a *different* series from you.
Write, write! <g>

Understood.

<Anything salutes sharply> Yes, Sir!
As a matter of fact, I'm working on it... No comment, at this time...
