Just wondering. Remember a while back Hope and John travelled to some
country.... can't remember the name.... Franistan? No.. Franistan was from
I Love Lucy... LOL Anyway they travelled to wherever it was, to get a
divorce because they were married to each other and not to Bo and Marelena,
due to DiMera shenanigans.
They eneded up coming home before they could get the divorce, so does that
mean that John and Marelena are still not legally married, and won't need a
divorce? Hmmmm....
I guess this is a piece of Salem history that has gone to the Twilight Zone.

Alameinia, however it's spelled.

Could be.

Yeah, the new writers dropped that one.

I've wondered about that too. The country is Alamainia, and that whole
plotline ended up getting dropped when the new writers came in. It was
never explained if the divorce didn't happen or if it perhaps occurred
off-camera. It's odd that none of the affected parties ever talked about it
again after John and Hope returned.

One thing I do remember is that Ian eventually admitted that he falsified
the letter from Alice which revealed that EJ was not Stefano's son. Since
Hope essentially traded that secret for the secret about Gina and John still
being married, I've wondered if that might have been a hoax as well.

One way or another, the whole issue seems to have disappeared from the
continuity, and I tend to doubt it will be brought up again.

I think Bo and Hope alluded to it once. But yeah, they didn't wrap that up.

And today with John telling Doc that she should file for a divorce if
she wants puts to rest the idea that John and Hope are still married.

Just as well with me if they don't bring up the issue again, because I
always thought it was a pretty sillly storyline.

I'm going with the theory that the story about John and Gina still being
married was a hoax, like the one about EJ not being Stefano's son.

And like it was mentioned somewhere on here, the EJ hoax was in the same
box as the John/Hope(Gina) episode. Could be everything was a hoax.
