Days has cast Young & The Restless vet Alexis Thorpe (ex Rianna) in the role
of trouble making Cassie who'll debut in June.

WHY???????????? Even though I loved Alexis on Y&R, I really don't see how
she could fit in here. We've already got this Belle / Phillip / Cynthia /
Chloe / Mimi / Jan / Shawn-D mess, why do we need another teen??? Yeesh,
this is where they got into trouble last year and after swaring up and down
to the fans that they were going to bring the show back on track (which so
far they've done a good job of doing) they do and bring us in another teen.
WHY??????? I could see her as a recast of Jan, but why do we need another
Bitchy Teen?!?!

We know for sure that by next fall, Jan, Cynthia, Phillip will be gone from
the show. Also, just because she's a trouble maker, it doesn't mean she's a
bitch. Maybe Cassie is related to one of the current characters on days
right now.

Phillip's exit has not been confirmed. The actor saying he's not expected
to resign is a far cry from not resigning. And is most likely an attempt to
get more money on his next contract. But, if the Days people were smart
they'd check the net, realize how hated Jay Kenneth Johnson is and cut him
lose, maybe bring the REAL Phillip back - Brandon Tyler.

In the summer they try to attract younger viewers to the show, so maybe that's
why they hired another teen.

Kim has one daughter, named Jeannie after Shane's mother. She also
has a son, named Andrew after Shane's twin brother.

they wouldn't do that because then they couldn't have her go after Shawn.

I like the actress who plays Abbey, but I had a sneaking suspicion that when
she returned from Blue Bird camp she would be 12 years old. But she wasn't. I
would have no problem with a 12/13 year old Abbey, Jen and Jack are old enough
for that. Kind of like when they had the 12 year old Shawn D on for a while
(was that a different actor than the current one? I think so. It was when
Billie and Bo lived on the boat).

So this new teen is supposed to be a new love interest for Shaun?

Stupid question. How do "we" know for sure?

Second, you mention nothing of Shawn D. or Brady or Belle..... what of them?

And they'll probably turn up in alt.tv.days-of-our-lives to join the
other teenagers in posting stupidity.

you mean Collin O'Donnell. I really liked him and wish they haddn't
recasted him with Jason Cook and just let him play his own age (he was the
age Jason was hired to play)

Shawn (they're an irish family, and Shawn is the correct irish and show
spelling of the name) will most likely be the one she's after. Since
Phillip's leaving and they have Cynthia already causing probs for him, and
Jan's on her way out.

As I said, I'd love it if Alexis played a recast of Jan.

As a babyboomer, I'm tired of the teens. Sean, Belle, Chloe, and Philip I can
tolerate, but Days is making it easy for me to fastforward through whole
storylines if they continue to add more teens. I hated the 4 characters when
they aged overnight but I put up with them. Doesn't mean I like them.

Heck on those days with all teen storylines, I can skip an entire day of
viewing.

At least this Philip is slightly better than the last one IMHO. But it's like
the lesser of two evils.

Please no more teens-on-an-island storylines. They could have filmed two
scenes -- Belle and Shawn on the beach and Jan/Paul/Shawn in the attack scene
and saved a bunch of money getting them all off the island earlier IMO. That
storyline dragged on too long.

At least this Abby can act. The last one, the blonde who was the one I
remember from when Jack/Jennifer were last on Days, and was with Jen in Ireland
was a terrible little actress.

That's why I'm not sure how I'd react if they rapid-aged Abbey; I like her too,
but also it might make Jack & Jen's life more interesting with an older
daughter.

Sorry about the spelling. It's funny though, I had a friend in High School
who was so adamant that the irish spelling was s-h-a-u-n. Anyways, I'm sure
Alexis would be a better Jan than Heather, but I still think they should
scrap the Jan character completely.

I agree. However you cannot have the teens running the show like they did
last summer. Teens with connections with the important characters on the
show are good, if the writers know how to use them.

Definitely agreed with you here. Meanie girl, macho-dumbass, nerd boy, shy,
Fat-ima, Sinythia etc, etc are definietly a "BLAH" here and need have their
parents to hauling their ass outta of Salem and need to put them in boot camp

Well, when you think about it, Brady isn't a teen anymore. In fact, isn't he
almost 21 on the show? I think I read that somewhere.

In the case of Sean Connery, it's apparently the Scottish version.

I can deal with the teen storylines better if the writers got ideas from
Dawson's Creek or something.

As far as the older Days couples, some of them are boring. Hope & Bo are
boring. Even John & Marlena is a snooze fest. When they guys are on, I
switch to Bold & the Beautiful.

Only couple I really like is Craig & Nancy. The worst is Jack &
Jennifer. He has been nothing more than a bumbling idiot and she is a
straight up bitch.

First of all, can you honestly blamed Jennifer for her straight up bitch when
Jack actin' like a bumbling idiot? I mean, really, what would you do if that a
bumbling idiot harassing you the way Jack does to Jennifer?

Guess this shows the age gaps on this board. I feel the same way about the
teen couples--they bore the heck out of me and I fast forward through many of
their storylines. Guess TPTB will need to come to a happy medium to pacify
both generations.
