(I had suspected this for a long time.When I spoke to my DS source he
confirmed that a GREAT DEAL of time was spent composing some shots --
especially 1897 and later--and that when it REALLY WORKED they all KNEW
it! But he hadn't specifically mentioned paintings.
The only ones that come to mind are the 1968 episodes at Prof. Stokes'
house in which the concave mirror on his wall beings to mind the mirror
in Jan Van Eyck's famous "marriage" painting.
Also there is a shot very late in 1841 Parallel Time when Flora (in her
last appearance?) leans against curtain dressed like a wealthy woman
does in a very elegant Sargent painting.
Does any one have a "pastiche"list?
