When I was in high school, a local station was airing reruns late at
night, and I'd gotten involved all over again in the 1795 storyline just
as I had as a child. I got a friend at school hooked on it too (bwa ha
ha!), and we couldn't wait to discuss the previous night's episode at
school each day.
I'll never forget the episode where Angelique lured Josette to Widoe's
Hill and frightened her with a vision of her fate, and Josette's tragic
fall to her death as Barnabas watched in horror. It had been years since
I'd seen DS, so it was like seeing it for the first time.
Anyway, the next day my friend informed me how disapointed she was that
she'd somehow missed DS last night, especially since it had been getting
so good lately with so much delicous drama going on! She asked me
excitedly "So come on, tell me, what happened last night?!"
My breathless reply? "EVERYTHING!!!" :)

Well, I remember the episode where Angelique says to Barnabas, "I
curse you, I curse you!" It was extremely powerful.

Well, my answer to that question changes month to month, depending on
which episodes I've been watching at the time. Right now, I have to say
I am impressed with #411, when a totally panicy Angelique attempts
destroying Barnabas before the curse begins, but she arrives at the
mausoleum too late:
Barnabas: So the curse is with me yet and will remain with me. Now I
know why you tried to prevent me from coming back to life.
Angelique: You do?
B: Of course! You knew you would be the first victim of your own curse!
A: Oh, no, no! That's not true!
B: Of course it is, Angelique! Or were you always lying to me when you
told me how much you love me?
A: No, Barnabas, I DO love you!
B: Then according to the curse, you must DIE! [starts strangling her]
A: No, Barnabas, please!
B: Yes, my dear Angelique, all your powers of witchcraft cannot save you
now!
Later on is good too:
Ben: ... she made me get a stake and a mallet.
Barnabas: Did she tell you why she wanted them?
Ben: She said the only way to make ya stay dead was to drive a stake
through your heart.
Barnabas: She got here a little too late for THAT.
And later still, a lamenting Barnabas:
Barnabas: When I awoke tonight and saw Angelique with the stake pointed
over my heart, I should have let her go through with it, I should have
let her kill me.
Ben: Mr Barnabas, you mustn't talk like that.
Barnabas: Ben, I would rather be dead than have to go through eternity
as what I am, what I have become.
