How many here are going to see Dark Shadows at the midnight show
tonight?

I almost was! Some of my work friends wanted to. Since they are all
rather younger than me, they feel it is important to go with someone
like me...

But then we all decided we can't do midnight (I'd have to drive back
here - over 25 miles).

so tomorrow after work - the 6:05 or 7pm showing. Can't wait.

I've resolved my feelings. Just going to try and enjoy it for what it
may be, rather than what I wanted it to be.

I would, but two things stopping me.
1. I'm not the Night Owl i used to be and 2. Walking home at 2 am thru
the Tenderloin (REALLY bad neighborhood) is totally out of the
question. And it's nearly impossible to catch a taxi on the main
street (Van Ness) at that time of night. Might buy advance tix for mid-
afternoon tomorrow tho.

Not I. I'm waiting for more reviews. So far, it's not sounding like
something I'm going to put the time, effort and money into. At this
point, I'm expecting to wait for it to come to Netflix.

Got tix for me and my guy for tomorrow afternoon. Honestly, i have not
been to a movie theatre in well over a decade. So, i figured this
might be a good time to get back in the water- so to speak.. being as-
for better or worse.. we have all been waiting for this to happen for
ages. There are other things i want to see this summer so i figure i
should just start with this. Fingers crossed it's at least a fun
watch.

Our theatre isn't getting a midnight showing, but I am planning to go to
an early afternoon matinee tomorrow.

I'm seeing a 4pm-ish show. Afterwards we shall grab some grub and hit
our local Drag Bar for a later show.
Sounds like a decent Friday to me... indeed!

I hope everyone enjoys! I read the " aintitcool.com " review (I
almost never agree, anyway) and the reviewer said old time fans will
like, but its too ploddy and has swashes of humor that pull you out.
But at its core its not a comedy. Just too slow for people used to
action and gore...

At this point, I could have posted the exact same thing.

There is still a chance I will see this in theaters but its going to
take a lot of positive reviews to change my mind at this point. This
newsgroup is pretty active as far as usenet goes these days, so
hopefully the reviews will start pouring in.

I think i read that same review. One review i read sounded like it was
written by a 15 year old so i put absolutely no credence in that one
whatsoever. I hardly ever let a review decide for me. As it is- my
movie collection has its share of classics and greats as well as what
many would consider garbage that i love LOL. So- reviews? pfft.

It's been great seeing so much activity on the group. I remember the old
days, when DS on on Sci-Fi and there was lots of discussion here. I,
too, am eager to read the DS fan reviews.

I would highy recommend it.
