Willie Loomis and the Vampires Curse Pt.13

Entering the cavernous room the Vampire stands, surveying the damage
done after Willies successful breach and rescue of  Barnabas
Collins.  Through angry narrow eyes the Vampires gaze falls upon the
lifeless body of Buzz, the young man who's misfortune it was to
accidentally find his coffin after falling into the decaying tomb.
Walking to where the young man lies the Vampire looks down upon him.
"Pity, I suppose I must replace you."

Looking closer at the dead man, the Vampire kneels down, with
a quick hand he picks up the dead body, his eyes that can see
though any darkness sees the marks made by Barnabas.  "So Barnabas,
you have fed upon his blood, you will be stronger, but you are still no
match for me."  Casting the useless carcass into a nearby pit the
Vampire, sensing the approach of the new day knows the sun's first rays
have fallen, he must return to his coffin, until he can rake his revenge
upon the foolish mortal who dared anger him.

Willies hands remain atop Barnabas' coffin as it closes tightly,
relieved that Barnabas was no longer a prisoner of the Vampire but
afraid that with the setting of the sun the Vampires rage will come
in full force searching for him, Willies lower lip began to tremble.

Stepping out of the cave beneath Widows Hill, with great
caution, Willie makes sure to conceal any and all evidence that he
or anyone had been in the vicinity of the isolated beach, filled
with apprehension Willie  took great measures to see that Barnabas was
safe.

Willie went over in his mind what happened after Buzz opened
Barnabas' coffin.  The sight of Barnabas' powerful hand thrusting
outwards towards the unsuspecting Buzz gave Willie to reminisce the
time he had also lifted the coffins door. Although weak from lack of
nourishment, Barnabas retained a greater part of his strength. Before
Willie could stop him Barnabas had young Buzz in his unrelenting grasp,
not letting go for a second, not even as he moved to leave the confines
of his coffin.

Willie saw in Barnabas' expression, his rage would only be satisfied
with the destruction of the mortal in his grasp.  Standing by in
somber silence Willie understood what was to come to pass, he also
wished he could change the outcome but knew it would not change Buzz'
destiny.

Once Barnabas had taken what he could of his victim's blood, with a
single hand Barnabas raised Buzz into the air, the bones in his neck
began to crack and break from the pressure being placed on them. "You
are no longer in charge of me, now it is you who are at my command,
and there is only one punishment for your offenses against me..... " As
Barnabas spoke his hand closed tightly around Buzz' throat, then
with a quick twist of his wrist the bone snaps, Buzz is dead. Willie
stifles a gasp.

Dropping his lifeless body Barnabas turns to Willie, his eyes
seeing through the darkness with crystal clarity,  Willie approaches
him with caution, the blood from Barnabas' mouth is absorbed
into his Vampire skin as he walks towards him.   "B-Barnabas, are
ya all right.."  Barnabas looks upon the boyish blond with new
eyes, Willie had risked his life to help him, Barnabas knew he would
never mistreat Willie again.   Before leaving the stench of the
decaying cavernous tomb Barnabas takes Willie to his side, giving him
instructions to his next and most important secret refuge.

Now revitalized Barnabas could not wait for Willie to transport his
coffin, instead picking it up Barnabas takes flight into the nearing
dawn towards this last place of safety.

Walking into the Old House Willie knew what he had to do, but first
he wanted to rest, he really needed to rest.  Falling onto Barnabas'
high back chair Willie falls to sleep immediately.
Willie was much to tired to dream, but the sound of a voice enters
his sleep, he can not avoid the invading sounds calling him, ever so
softly, wantonly, sweetly, Willie begins to reply to the far off
voice... "Who's that, what ya want... no Barnabas!  I can't please
stop.... "  His thoughts were tangled into the memory of
what Willie saw Barnabas do to Buzz hours before... something
he wanted to forget but never would.

Willie rushes to Collinwood, all the way wondering if what
he heard was part of a dream or if it was even real at all.  He
didn't want to think about it, there was so much to do before the
sunset... falling asleep like that wasn't part of what he had to do.

Arriving at the front door Willie knocks, waiting for Maggie
or even Mrs. Johnson to come to the door, after a few seconds he
knocks again.  "Huh, where is everybody." This time Willie pounds on
the heavy wooden doors, when again no one arrives Willie begins to
worry.  Jumping into a quick run the young man hurries towards
the side of the mansion, to were a secret door is, only a few people
know of it Willie being one of them.   Once inside Willie urgently
searches each room.  Stumbling slightly down the staircase then
stopping in the foyer Willie shouts out loud.  "Everybody's
gone!"   When he hears the sound of a flute playing London
Bridge... Looking all around Willie understands. "Sarah,  you... you
made them leave Collinwood, so they'd be safe didn't ya."   With out
seeing the little ghost Willie feels her spirit enter his mind... "Help
my brother Willie.."  The sound of her voice sent shivers up his
spine, Willie ran to the Old House as fast as he could, to prepare for
the fight of his life.
