I don't think he ever knew. I could be wrong, but I've been through the
series three or four times, I don't recall anything that suggested he did.

Nope, he never did. Not surprising, considering he forgot to let Adam out
of his closet. :)
It wasn't the closet, it was his bedroom (which may be even worse, if
you have a dirty mind).
But they did kinda sorta resolve the story, by having Stokes talk
about sending Adam away to a clinic he knew where he could have his
scars removed, and no doubt break into society as a 9-5 grunt
somewhere. If you ever see a longshoreman who can lift crates onto
the ship without a crane, it's probably Adam.
But yeah, the abruptness with which Adam departed was jarring. "Go
hide in the bathroom while I give Jeff Clark these magic memory
restorative tea leaves", and then Adam is never heard from again.
It's even worse than the way Frank Garner disappeared without a trace.
No, not quite. There was actually one more mention of Adam. A
strange one, too.
In 1970, Julia uses the apparatus they used to bring Adam to life on
Roxanne, to try to get her out of her coma. She tries a few zaps and
fzzzt's on her, but it doesn't work. The whole thing is really odd,
considering that it took place in Parallel Time, so what was Julia's
equipment doing in the Old House? (The Julia of Parallel Time was a
maid, and so not likely to have her own Mad Science equipment).

I recall he had some strong suspicions but it wound up being a moot point
once Julia cured him.

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.
