Let's examine what the fans of Charmed experienced:
~~THE MEDIA:
.....reported months ago that there was severe tension going on between Doherty
& Milano on the set of Charmed and that Milano asked the producers to be let
out of her contract at the end of the season because she could not work with
Doherty anymore.
~~THE STARS
.....of Charmed denied any such goings on saying that it was merely rumors
being started. When point-blankly asked by fans as to whether Milano would be
quitting, went on to say that someone would be leaving at the end of the season
but denied that it was one of the 3 TV sisters.
~~THE PRODUCER
.....while the producer stated that he had not heard of any tension going on
between the two actresses twisting in to his denial that the 2 actresses were
professionals and did not have to get along to work together.
~~FACTS currently being reported now that it is all over with:
...that Shannen was the one (not Milano) who went to producers last December
saying that she was tired of the feuds with her co-star and asked to be let out
of her contract. Producers asked Doherty if she could finish the season out
allowing her to direct the last episode of the season. To assure, Shannen's
stay, producer's immediately hired a mediator in January when production began
for the 2nd half of the 3rd season to work with Milano & Doherty. However,
that did not seem to help matters resulting in Milano saying that if Shannen
did actually return in the 4th season, Milano would not be. Not knowing which
one of the actresses, if any, would be returning the next season, producers had
the 3rd season's cliff hanger end where it could be either one----or both.
So the end results show that the media was right about the on-the-set stories
all along and that the stars & producers did such a good job at covering up the
truth from fans in denying that any tension was going on between the 2
actresses, that the beginning of the story (that it was actually Doherty who
first asked to be let out of the show) never even surfaced in the media until
after it was all over with.
So that leaves fans with the question:
Who do the fans believe?
THE MEDIA? (Who have paid sources reveal information to them on a regular
basis.)
~or~
THE STARS & PRODUCERS? (Who sometimes lie in order to keep things looking
good.)
While there is no real answer, all fans can do is trust their instincts. If
they are true fans of celebrities, the stories will not matter to them.
In most cases, "The sh*tteth will hit the faneth," eventually.
Really? I bet there were a large number who weren't surprised at all, and
therefore didn't respond.
And I can see where Alyssa might start in with the 'what do you care,
you're bolting at the end of the season' tude if things got really
crazy. which of course is human and all that, but not good when you want
someone to stick around.
also there is the issue that in some cases Soap Opera Weekly isn't any
better than a tabloid.
they reported that a girl from one of the soaps was going to guest star
in the second half of the season for Roswell as one Maggie Whitman,
sister to Alex Whitman. but it wasn't true. According to my sources on
the show, Maggie was never more than a brief thought in a brainstorming
meeting. and she never made it out of that meeting.

I can't remember her exact name. but I think it was Rebecca something
and that she was on General Hospital.
and when the article was released they (being SOW) said that it was a
done deal, not that it was a rumor.
I *try* to make it policy to not believe anything until an official press
release. Because both the tabloids and the show's employees (producer,
stars, etc.) can and will lie. The only difference I see between the two
sides & their lying is motivation. The members of the show aren't going to
speak out against the show or cause the show bad publicity. The tabloids
always needs stories to fill their papers and will take a rumor and print a
full-page cover story based on that rumor and embellishing it.
I'm all for speculation, it gives some of us something to think about & be
creative in our conclusions. I don't think though that anything should be
taken as gospel until the person or show in question officially affirms or
denies the story.

Of course, official releases will "spin" issues at times.
For example, the official story about Colin Hanks leaving Roswell was
that the show's producers felt that it was in his best interest, given
the sitch with his mother and his growing movie status. It almost
implied that Colin knew about it and was cool with it.
But the truth, which even Jason Katims admitted to, is that the writers
weren't able to develop Alex into a character that they were satisfied
with (I don't think that they ever meant for him to be such a major
character etc). And given THAT and Colin's movie sitch, they decided to
write the character out. Colin didn't know about the plan until he got
the scripts. But the development was more for dramatic purposes than for
Colin's sake.
True. I just mean that I'm not one to leap on every news article I read.
When its official (even if its a 'spin') that's really all we can believe.
When we find out later that even the official release was a lie, well then I
think we need to conclude that we can't believe anything we're told.

I'm still mad over that. I can think of many things to have done with Alex,
I just don't think they wanted him to go anywhere. I miss his character on
Roswell and think the loss is greater than what JK and the writers had
banked on.

I'm guessing that would be Rebecca Herbst, who play Liz Weber.

Interesting...
oh I think they know. and I think they planned it like that. cause the
grief etc over losing Alex is more dramatic than a happy ending. what
I'm pissed about is that they did such a wretched job with setting up
Tess as the big baddie.

A hunk isn't what Isabel needed. if it was, she could have picked any
guy on the football or basketball team. what she needed was a sweet guy
that would stand by when the fit hit the shan. Michael and Max are
enough hunk and hunkesque for the show. problem is that having a sweet
guy gives no conflict. not like the Max/Liz/Tess thing or Michael and
Maria's constant on again/off again. it actually would have been a good
thing to have one normal and stable couple on the show. but the PTBs
didn't like that idea.
You are forgetting that the reason that Shannen asked to be let out way back in
December was because she was already in spats with Alyssa, as she so
says---->tired of hearing Alyssa "bitching" of how she hates her job and hates
coming to work all the time.
Note: Shannen's version, of course.
When in fact, Alyssa, the so called person who (~according to Shannen~) hates
her job----IS STILL THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY THERE still working on the job!
And Shannen is now the one "bitching" about hating being on the show she says
is made for 12 year olds.
Nobody has heard Alyssa's version of the story yet---but I would think that
Alyssa wasn't the only one who was complaining about their job back then.
Shannen just wasn't bright enough to figure out what was actually being
implied. And if I was her---I wouldn't exactly go around telling the world
that Alyssa or anyone was making that complaint.

I'm curious, what authoritative source did you get that from. Cause when
Shannen had her public interview she didn't name names. Sure one could
assume that she meant Alyssa, but for all we know it was actually
someone else and everyone was putting Alyssa's name in there cause of
all the talk and the rumors.
and if Alyssa hated the job so much, why is she still there. It's a
question worth asking.
Sounds like you are in denial.
>and if Alyssa hated the job so much, why is she still there. It's a

Alyssa did not hate the job. She only hated what was going on between her &
Shannen and wanted out of that situation. Who wouldn't? Now that Shannen is
only a figment of Charmed's past, Alyssa can now work in a more pleasant
atmosphere. The one she deserves.

FWIW, from Doherty's history, it was quite possible that she was feuding
with Alyssa Milano *AND* members of the production and crew...

At a guess, she's still there because Shannen blinked first.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you and Alyssa are in bed together and
she tells you all her thoughts and feelings.
The fact is if Alyssa was the one that wanted out, then why didn't she
go. They could have very easily written it so that the Source told them
that they could never see Alyssa again.
And since Shannen has never flat out said "Alyssa Milano is a total damm
bitch and she made my life miserable and I refuse to work with her
anymore", all statements to that effect are still rumors. And if you
have some iron clad, authorizative source you better be willing to spill
it. Cause for all we know, it was a member of the production staff she
had a problem with. Or one of several people.

I feel that the truth is always somewhere in the middle
and/or gets blown way out of proportion.
I also feel that since AM and SD can always get work that
everything has to go a little too perfect or they will bail.
It is a shame too since look what has happened to a main
character.
If you think my rebuttal is that you must be bedding Shannen for you to know so
much about her, in your dreams pal.
Judging from all we've seen the last 10 years, I don't think you'd stand a
chance.
>The fact is if Alyssa was the one that wanted out, then why didn't she

Uhhh, probably because she didn't really want to go.
Are you brain dead?

Again with the brain dead.

Or more than likely knowing Shannen-----ALL !!!
I wonder how many people on the set were thinking on that last day of filming,
"Good ridenence, b*tch !"
to quote an earlier statement of yours:
"You are forgetting that the reason that Shannen asked to be let out way
back in
December was because she was already in spats with Alyssa, as she so
says---->tired of hearing Alyssa "bitching" of how she hates her job and hates
coming to work all the time."
so you say that the reason why Shannen left is cause she says that she
was sick of hearing ALYSSA BITCH ABOUT HOW SHE HATED WORKING ON THE SHOW
to wit I replied If that was true (that Alyssa hated the job) then why
is she still there.
as for all your damm trolling 'brain dead' comments. I don't claim to
have the absolute undenialable truth (like you claim to). Therefore
until I hear Shannen say that it was Alyssa that she was referring to, I
will keep an open mind about the idea that it could have been the
writers, the crew, the producers, Alyssa, some other member(s) of the
cast or a combination thereof.
