Brand dilution.
Cartoon Network is no longer exclusively good cartoons and is bogged
down with too much unappealing cheap shows. I haven't see anything
appealing lately aside from "Juniper Lee", "Grim Adventures of Billy and
Mandy", "Chowder", "George of the Jungle", "Fosters Home for Imaginary
Friends", "Batman: The Brave and the Bold", Flapjack", and "Clone Wars".

Ah, been watching the CARTOON NETWORK website videos and "The League of
Super Evil" shows some definite promise. The characters lack plausible
income, but since this is an animated series for young kids (8 to 13 range)
I am not regarding it seriously an attempt as a work of Masterpiece Theater.
It lacks some of the Mad Scientist depth of many better series ("Evil Con
Carne" or "Dexters Laboratory") yet can still entertain a bit at a shallow
plot level.

The only negative is that the voice on Voltar tends to be a bit irksome
somehow.
Scott McNeil has superb character voicing experience and somehow the
voice of Voltar is grating.

I think it might be the intentional raspy performance style for the
character, but it probably just needs a bit of audio tweaking or filtering
to diminish the precise raspy aspect that is bothersome. Otherwise the
performance of the spoken whole words are tempo modulated okay (the voice
varies in volume to show emotion, but has no real emotional "life" to the
effort by varying the syllable durations and individual volume modulation of
those syllables). I suspect it is a problem with that particular vocal
imitation of a raspy voice for the character limiting some of basic acting
range that Scoott McNeil excels in.

Lee Tockar performs very well as Doktor Frogg (Regx) and comes across as
the most functional character.

Colin Murdock performs an okay "Captain Carrot"-type character (from
Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series) of Reginald (Red) Menace who sees the
good in everyone and tends to follow orders too faithfully.

The show kind of comes across as a drama in the style of a "Fast Food
Vending Booth" at a Carnival Fair Grounds.
There is the demanding loud manager always set on the verge of impotent
rage (Voltar).
There is the competent trustworthy cash register operator and food
preparation guy who also fills up the drink cups (Doktor Frogg ).
There is the easy-going eager-to-please cook who cleans in his spare
time and dreams of a better life for his "work family" Reginald (Red)
Menace.

And the pet of the manager Voltar, "Doomageddon", which remains chained
to the food vending booth for most of the day and who is not keen on Doktor
Frogg for some reason and is spoiled silly by Reginald (Red) Menace in his
spare time.

Uhh...did we see the same show? But, to be fair, the commercial actually
makes it look like this show will actually be funny.
