The Othersiders: Yup, this is basically Ghosthunters with kids.

Of note: All their locations just happen to be in the Southern
California area; I guess they don't have much in the way of a travel
budget.

Survive This: Jokingly called "Literally Surivivorman with Teenagers"
(Les Stroud is the host), it's actually a lot more like Survivor . . .
with kids.

Of note: The show originally aired (and airs) on Canada's YTV. If
you can spot the subtleties, the show is *clearly* Canadian.

BrainRush: The most original of the shows, at best I can call it
Distraction with kids, but barely. The questions are fairly simple,
it's answering them while upside down at 60 mph that makes it
worthwhile! I found offering $100 extra to eat something (usually
quite fattening; a cheeseburger, funnel cake, chili cheese fries) just
before the final ride especially sadistic, but in a fun way!

Of note: The rides are all in Southern California's Knott's Berry
Farm. The best reason I can think it was picked would be because it's
the least known of SoCal's theme parks (behind Disneyland, Six Flags
Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios), hence the one least likely to
be recognized on a national level; also, the cheapest to operate in.

Destroy Build Destroy: Now that I've seen it, Junkyard Wars with
Kids.

Of note: Andrew WK is the host; the guy seems to have quite a
connection to CN/AS, having also guest starred/sang in Aqua Teen
Hunger Force.

Slamball: Ummm, it's Slamball, borrowed from Versus.

Of note: No kids, just an excuse to show this weird basketball
hybrid.

Didn't Vince McMahon try that slamball garbage about 10 years ago and it
failed miserably then too?

No, I definitely remember that Slamball crap from about 10+ years ago. I
just can't remember if Vince had a stake in it or not back then.

To them, Southern California is AMERICA! :-) (yes, that is a good
example of sarcasm I'll give you)

Why can't you just take away their Xbox's and iPods, stick 'em in the
middle of Podunk Falls, U.S.A. and call that a show why don't
you? :-)

So another case of importing 'Canada's Best' I see. ^_^

Heh, why do I feel I've seen that before?

It is owned by the same people who own Sandusky's Cedar Point though,
and that's a pretty cool park I haven't been to yet. :-)

Just saw five seconds of this and changed the channel!

Why not Jai alai? I'd rather see someone try that.
