have read from half dozen or more sites that the new 'Buffy' movie
is pretty much a 'never-was' since the screenwriter has jumped ship.
although I'd be interested to see it, probably a good thing in the long run.
would it really have a 'buffy' movie without SMG and Joss?

This is, of course, great news; glad that leech Fran Kuzuzi didn't have her
way with this one.
Now with Joss having the juice it takes with his massive mega-hit Avengers
film, perhaps he can revisit BTVS with the original cast, in some sort of
special or direct-to-DVD miniseries?
Maybe we can also get a little more Firefly :)

BTVS won't happan. SMG is tried up with Ringer,
AH is tied up with HIMYM, NB is tired up a the
serial killer on Crimjinal Minds, DB is tied up with
Bones. Also the CW is too small a network to
do a show properly, BTVS won't get the rarings
to warrant a spot on ABC NBC or CBS.

i'd love to see BTVS return, but I wouldn't hold
my breath waiting for it.

I can remember a lot of fans complaining about how the actors
(especially Gellar and Brendon ) aged or changed rapidly during the
series. That was ten or eleven years ago. Even if you reassembled
the cast, the old chemistry that was the result of years of working
together is not likely to reappear. People change. It might be
possible to reboot the series, but it is impossible to resurrect it
with the same cast.
