Most of the first season episodes aired today. I was flipping back
and forth between it and Barney Miller on WGNA. The only one I watched
completely was "Passion" (not to be confused with "Passions" - Spike's
favorite daytime TV show).
Poor Giles, after Angelus killed Jennie, he got his "good weapons"
and went after Angel. Giles was hitting Angel with a burning torch (not to
be confused with a British flashlight). What he should have done is set
Angel on fire, then continue hitting him until he was all burned up.
Looks like his "good weapons" didn't do him much good.

Willow: Look, all his weapons are gone.
Cordelia: But I thought he kept his weapons at the library.
Xander: No, those are his, uh, everyday weapons. These were his
good weapons. The ones he, uh, breaks out when company comes to visit.

Angelus: Passion. It lies in all of us.
Sleeping...waiting.
And though unwanted, unbidden it will stir, open its
jaws, and howl.
It hurts sometimes more than we can bear.
If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some
kind of peace.
But we would be hollow.
Empty rooms, shuttered and dank.
Without passion, we'd be truly dead.

Actually they were season two eps. I guess S1 didn't have as
many good eps.

He wanted Angel to suffer. Setting him on fire would have killed him
too quickly.

BUFFY: I say we take off and nuke the entire town from orbit. It's
the only way to be sure.
GILES: ...won't that make the story a bit short?
BUFFY: ...well, I suppose we could wait till S7...
