Tonight was a total snooze-fest, IMO. Bring on Taylor Hicks!

I don't care who wins. They both did just fine, but the first two
rounds were extremely boring to me. I actually liked Kree's
performance in round 3 better than Candice's; Candice oversang the
song (and, to boot, it was a REALLY crappy arrangement of a classic
ballad).

Bye bye to the judges, and bye bye to Season 12 of this rapidly fading
show.

As much as I was not really a Hicks fan, I completely agree with this.

At least the contestants weren't as boring as Carly Ray Jepson and that piece of junk
she sang.

I thought her nerves got the best of her in this song. She still sang
it beautifully. I bet the recording is better.

They should have saved this for tomorrow's show and let the judges
comment on each performance instead of two for the first round and two
for the second round.

Screech. Kree has a great bluesy, soulful country voice. Why would
they pack this song full of high notes she has to screech to reach?
Parts of it were great. I just wish they would have Kreedomized it.

I loved this song for her, but I wish they would have made it more
R&B. Candicized it.

I felt like Kree's song was written for Carrie Underwood's voice.
Hopefully when she sings it on tour she will leave out those high
notes. Kreedomized it. And I hope Candice will Candicize hers on
tour too. I have to give round two to Candice.

Well at this point they were supposed to talk about both. At this
point I was wondering if maybe the judges didn't want to do their job
because they were all fired.

That was the performance of the season! She's in it to win it! Round
three goes to Candice!

I was wondering the same thing. Why would Kree pick going first? Was
she told to? Was she afraid that her nerves would make her singing to
shaky if she went second? Or does she just not know that going last
gives you an advantage? Or maybe she doesn't want to win.

Who will win? It doesn't matter. When you let Candice be Candice and
you let Kree be Kree, they are both awesome! We need to Candicize and
Kreedomize the airwaves! Can I get an amen?!

So you think Kree should have whipped out the harmonica and Candice
should have sang while laying on the floor? lol

I agree though that they should have each done at least one upbeat
song. But they only got to choose one song and they had to choose the
one they thought would show them off the best.

They really didn't even get to pick one song. In theory they could have
chosen to sing any of their songs again, but in practice they each had to
choose one of a very small number of "greatest hits".

I kind of agree with whoever posted that the first two rounds were a
snooze. Instead of the idiot judges and producers wasting our time for the
past 2 weeks, I wish the girls had been given much more control over what
to sing. MUCH more.

I'm giving the win to Kree. I think she's better at "delivering" a
song, even though she's not technically as gifted a singer as Candice.
Candice inserts too many vocal runs for my tastes and to me the meaning
of the song gets lost somewhere in them as well as the melody. Also, I
really liked Kree's coronation song.

Candice is great at what she does. Personally, a little Candice goes a LONG
way. I just love Kree's voice. It's more pleasing for me to listen to.
BTW....they both looked lovely in the third round. I especially liked Kree's
red dress.

I thought they both did an incredible job tonight, but for me Kree is
the clear winner. Her voice is so soothing and beautiful, and so easy
to listen to. I would enjoy going to a live concert where she was
headlining and listening to her CD's. I voted many times for her
tonight, and am hoping for the best, but if Candice wins, she very
well deserves it too. I realize her talent, but Kree really stood out
for me.

I don't think it matters at this point who actually went first, since
was only the two of them, and even though Candice performed last, how
could anyone forget Kree's performances? She stood out front and
center 3x's. They can both feel proud and satisfied that they did
their very best.

Thanks for doing the recaps all season, Zob! Even when I gave up
watching the show a month ago, I would still read your recaps.

Never was a Taylor fan...still griped that Chris Daughtry didn't win

Have my fingers crossed Kree is crowned tomorrow night, but it could

I know DialIdol really doesn't have any validity now, but they actually made a

Their predictive model has been broken for a few seasons now. Badly broken.

The raw numbers show that Kree received 19,455 votes plus 184 busy signals
(0.9%) through DI software. Candice received 14,814 votes plus 62 busy
signals (0.4%). If their data has any predictive value at all, it's
predicting Kree will win.

Haven't not seen any of the finals yet.... I think Kree has turned in some of
the worst last-five performances I've ever seen... On the shows with Miller, she
sang flat and sharp all over the place. On top of that, she just seemed so
disconnected from everything. There's no reason for her to be in the top
two.... she's just had horrible performances.

So.. I'm predicting Candice - but - I still am not the guy that would EVER
listen to that music. I don't have any insight as to how she'll do in the
future...

I'm actually surprised Miller didn't win... She was the best looking of the
bunch (a reality for pop music) and was a MUSICIAN (which the world needs to get
back to) and she was bubbly and a good performer....

I can't imagine who would pick these two for the finalists...

Again - I realize Candice is just stellar as a singer.... She's the best thing
in a long time. But, this was her third rodeo, and she just seems so shy... I
hope there are a lot of people that like that style of music. I don't know
anybody.

PS - that new single/video by Mariah.... That's probably the first time I've
heard her sing... I thought she SANG... Big notes, high notes..... Jordan Sparks
could have sung that prefab thing..

How do those low numbers show anything? I thought these shows got like 40 million
votes... Is that their sample??? I bet 5 teenagers in Fargo could put in 19,000
votes :)

I'm most definitely on another page from you. Grant you I haven't
watched the show since it became the Top 5....until last night, as
wanted to see the final performances, especially after a friend sent
me the site showing Kree's emotional home visit and also one of her
performances last week, which was oustandingly beautiful! It renewed
my interest in Kree, and I decided then and there, I WANTED her to
win, so would tune in last night and vote like holy wow for her (which
I did). For me her voice is so smooth and silky and just so pleasant
to sit and listen to. I don't hear any flats, or sharps, but I'm no
music expert either, and only go on what I like.

I think she connects great with the audience, which was proved by the
reaction she got last night. She has a sweet vulnerability. Candice
has never connected that well AFAIC and I don't care for the big diva
voices. Would never go to a concert, or buy a CD certainly of hers,
but I most certainly would for Kree. From what I hear she is as lovely
on the inside as she is on the outside....a good and kind person with
a caring heart. I'm not denying Candice has a powerful voice, but just
not my cuppa'.

I'm glad Angie was voted off...never was a fan and never thought she
deserved to win. Sorry, Chris, but just telling it as I see it from my
own perspective. %-}

No need to apologize - that's what makes the group - different opinions.

So... like I said, I have yet to see the second to last show... But, I have been
watching faithfully all season... My original comment was - as they started
eliminating from the last five to now - so - 4 shows or so - her performances and
song choices have been brutal.... High, screechy vocals, terrible songs, and just
looking like a deer in the headlights.... Everybody else, had star quality...

I'm sure she's a great person... And yes, the home visit was touching - however,
it looked like her house was demolished - yet it had stuff in her room??? I didn't
get that... I almost threw up with how many times Candice said "oh my gosh!!!" :)

I don't know how anybody could not like Angie.... Great Body, Great voice, a
pianist, a great smile, and even though I'm a dude, I thought she wore great
outfits... unlike the other two that were constantly trying to not look huge...

Do you think she wasn't the best 'pop' singer of the bunch?

I'll watch the second to last show tomorrow I hope.... Progress is slow in
Afghanistan :) And the Internet is slower! :)

It will be interesting - so - you're rooting for Kree? I just can't seem to shake
her awful, wooden performances..... So, Candice wins by default for me...

We'll see..

Yes, I'm definitely rooting for Kree to win, but honestly, I think
it's going to be a close call tonight, as both girls are mega-talented
in their own way. I never found her voice to ever be screechy, or that
she looked like a deer in the headlights, but as I said I haven't
watched the show for about a month. Candice has never been able to
touch me when she performs, and I have to feel something in a
constestant aside from their vocal ability.

There did seem to be some things in Kree's house in TX., but the one
room was in shambles?

Angie was probably the best at Pop,I'm not that fond of that type of
music, and to me she was never consistent, but yes, most definitely,
she was a cute girl.

How much longer do you have to be in Afghanistan? It seems like you've
been there quite awhile already.

Pretty song. Not much to do with it, though. I would have challenged her

I loved it. Good song choice and wonderful interpretation. A nod to Adele
without being married to Adele's interpretation.

I really thought that song was a waste of air time.

Good, but I forgot the song as soon as it was done.

It was good, very good.

Oh.my.God. She changed so much from the first time and this blew me away.
That a cappella start was so spot on. No pitch variation, just rock solid.
That could have gone so wrong, so quickly.

Favorite songs
Candice "I Who Have Nothing"
Candice "Chasing Pavement"
Kree "Up to the Mountain"
Kree "Angel"
Candice "I am Beautiful"
Kree "All Cried Out"

Who should win: Candice
Who will win: Kree......because that seems to be the history.

OK a little late, I just watched last night's show and I'd
rate Candice's "I Who Have Nothing" at the bottom
with all the rest randomly distributed.
I've never thought of that song as a POWER VOCAL
song. For me her interpretation came across as hostile
rather than pensively longing. Guess I'm not a big fan of
in your face "friggin' look at me!!!" love(?) songs.

Not just you. I too think of it as a song about desperate longing, and
I didn't care for Candice's interpretation either. I still much prefer
Jordin Sparks' version.

I guess I've just been talking about the last 3 or 4 weeks... As soon as she
started losing her mojo, it's been all downhill. Definitely screechy, and
definitely not connecting with the audience - almost sheepish...

Candice IS a great singer - but in a gospel/R&B way that just is lost on me.... I
appreciate it - if she sang James Bond theme songs, I'd TOTALLY love her :)

As for Kree's house... It looked like when they pulled up, it was a dilapidated
house that had been abandoned/condemmed. But, when they went it, it looked like
it had stuff, but was still weird.... If you've ever seen the show 'Hoarders' -
like one of those houses, but with slightly less stuff :)

So... how could you watch a pop show, but not like pop?? I'm a metal guy, but I
LOVE pop..... I listened to Faith Hill all last night after the show..

OK, I started thinking maybe I was just having a bad day, so I listened
to a number of versions on YouTube. Nope, still don't like Candice's
arrangement. To me the arrangement should be Christmas tree shaped,
starting low and building to the crescendo *I Love You*, then
dropping back down and building again, each time with more passion.
Thinking back to Harry Connick Jr's " ..what do the words mean?" I
think of "I who have nothing" as subdued, almost apologetic and the
focus moves to the love interest with the passion building to "I Love
You!" then crashing back to the quiet desperation and again rebuilding.
The feeling I got from Candice's arrangement was more like: how dare
you not love me. The technical singing was great, but the feeling didn't
connect for me.
Anyway, that's my spin. [YMMV]

As for kittens, do these look like photos from a kitten/puppy hater? :-)

It's not bad living here... I live on a base.. I'm not military, I support the

It's a drag being away from my wife.. I'm here 3 months, I'm home 1 month. It's
