With some discussion in other threads about what is or isn't doing well right
now, I thought there might be some interest in the fresh Billboard rankings
(exact official numbers unfortunately aren't available yet).

Nothing major so far that I know of. It has ranked in the top 10 in several
categories.

I wonder if there could be an error on the Hot 100 list. Kris's LLWD was at #50
last week, but isn't on this week's list at all. It's hard to believe it could
have dropped that much in just one week.

Lee and Crystal are showing up on the Digital and Hot 100 lists, plus Carrie got
a hefty boost from her Idol appearance. It will be interesting to see how long
these Lee and Crystal tracks hang around, especially since neither is in the Top
10. Kris and Adam combined took three of the top ten spots last year in the
week following the finale.

Don't know where Brian Mansfield at IdolChatter got his info yesterday that
Jordin Sparks's album Battlefield was #185 on the Billboard 200. It's not
there!

Numbers sometimes vary from week to week in these ratings. I'm guessing it's a
matter of catch-up/correction rather than errors. For instance, in the BB 200
list For Your Entertainment is shown this week as having been at #121 last week.
Yet last week it was shown at #116. Daughtry shows this week as having been
#155 last week, but it was actually #181 on last week's list.

Of course, I'm not checking Billboard after their initial weekly posts. So
maybe they show subsequent corrections.

I'm really impressed that Mandisa has been selling so consistently
with an album that's been out for 2 years. She must really be out on
the road working it. Looks like she has a new album out in a couple
of weeks, it'll be interesting to see where it lands on Billboard.

Thanks for the latest postings on the rankings, Larc!

It seems to me that Scotty is doing GREAT, coming right out of the
starting gate, and especially with a song that I think we all agree, was
rather "lame", but I think it was Jimmy Lovine that chose it for him, so
maybe he knew more than what we did?!

If he's doing this well with THAT song, then I'm excited to know just
how well he'll do with his debut CD this fall, or whenever it will be
recorded and released. I really hope there is a good mix of songs on it,
that showcase him well and that his fans will rush out to purchase. I
know I can't wait!

I missed seeing him and Lauren on the Today Show. I don't normally watch
it, so forgot it was today they were to be guests on it. I did see him
on Regis & Kelly Tuesday and he did a great job with "I Love You This
Big", and was so personable...he was funny and charming, and seemed so
mature for his 17 years.

"Beautiful Day" didn't chart. "Sweet Serendipity," the first single from Lee's
album, peaked at #23 in Billboard Adult Pop Songs. It will be interesting to
see how Scotty's first album single compares.
