<rant>NBC is doing a less-than-stellar job (understatement
intentional) with their Olympics coverage IMO. Well, maybe not
exactly with their coverage, but with their coordinating the
broadcasting of the events.
Everything is all glommed together for 8, 9 hours at a time on 4 or 5
different networks (NBC, MSNBC etc.) so you I can't record say,
gymnastics or swimming without filling my DVR up with things like
Korean women weightlifters or Montenegro water polo. That means I'm
finding it difficult to find and watch the events that I'm most
interested in. And then they keep bouncing back and forth from event
to event, so even when I DO record something I want to see, I might
have to FF through two hours of a qualifying bicycle race to find a 10
minute snippet of a 400 meter swimming final in which an American
swimmer is favored to get the gold. And I can't watch events live
because different events are being broadcast on several different NBC
affiliated channels at different times with seemingly no rhyme or
reason. It's been very frustrating so far.
For instance, I read online a while ago about an upset in the USA's
women's qualifying gymnastics this morning but haven't yet been able
to find NBC's coverage of that event. GRRRRR.
The other networks have done a much better job in the past of
broadcasting the individual events that are traditionally the most
popular such as swimming, gymnastics and diving rather than burying
them in a mountain of Balkan country playing water polo, Australians
playing beach volleyball and United Arab Emirates in a soccer game
against Great Britain. </rant>

Other networks? Yes, in the very *distant* past.
NBC has had exclusive rights for the Summer Olympic Games in 1988 and the Winter Games since 2002?
It's been exclusively NBC for the past decade and for the Summer Games almost a quarter of a century.

They will probably show the women's gymnastics in prime time tonight.

It's a bit like going to a restaurant and having them randomly bring out
bits of your dinner; maybe some peas, then a bit of desert, then a appetizer,
then some steak, .....etc.

The triple cast was pretty cool that they had going on for the 2000
games.

Say what, a spoiling with no warning? Oh well, that's cool if it were
that big of a deal I would not be in a thread talking about the
Olympics. I've been watching most of the coverage and as of now they
have not shown any footage about the upset you are posting about.

Yep, that's the plan but now that Zob already spilled the beans...

I've been to a restaurant that did that and I did not care for it.
Here I am saving room for the good stuff that is coming later and then
when the brought that stuff it was not as good as the other stuff I
passed on, oh well.

I could not agree more, NBC should have shown the opening ceremonies
live but not to beat up NBC to badly at least they showed the Men's
Basketball vs. France live today.

You can actually watch all of the events live on nbcolympics.com, if you have a cable subscription.

Sounds good, I'm getting fired up for Friday that's when track & field
starts, WOO-HOO!!!
I enjoyed the woman's weightlifting earlier, at no other time can
people get away with talking about a clean snatch on network TV.
