TAR ratings dropped sharply because of weak lead-in and lead-out. Last week
we had more than 12 million viewers and we had 9+ million viewers last
night. CBS is probably right that only the all stars can save TAR.

It's the good week bad week scenario. Which means TAR finale will be bad
week. But as I say to my good friend LiteYear, it's not TAR10's ratings that
are important, it's TAR11's!

Keep in mind it was also a holiday weekend. That never helps.

The lead in was 60 Minutes as always and even a helpful football overrun.
Nothing wrong with a lead in that had 3million more viewers than TAR. The
leadout was some silly movie, but it also had about 3million more viewers
than TAR. So, as always for Sunday, TAr is the weak spot, not the rest of
the lineup.

If you want a reason for the drop in ratings, maybe the audience sensed a
non-elimination leg?

Why do some people on here seem so down on the show? I've been
surprised lately by so many posts from regular contributors saying the
show is weak, bad, boring, etcetera. I personally find it exhilirating
from start to finish, every week, and to be honest when the show starts
I don't even waste time calculating the odds of it being
non-elimination or not or trying to second guess the whole damn thing.
I just watch it and enjoy it! Surprising to me that people frequently
post in a newsgroup about a programme they don't seem to think very
highly of. Why watch it then, let alone post negatively about it?

Anyway it was great that it was non-elim because I love the blondies,
if for no other reason than I've never seen an all-girl team get this
far before and I'd love to see somebody other than an 'alpha-male' or
'whiney-couple' team win just for a change. The BQs and Bama are not
your typical TAR winner which is why I'd be more interested in one of
them being first. I know the chances of it happening are slim as but
its still something to hope for until the finish. Though Id obviously
prefer the BQs over Bama to win, cos they're cooler and more fun to
watch. The BQs have made this season for me, like BJ and Tyler did the
last.

I guess another clue that this week was a non-elim was the fact that
there is no Finish Line show this week. I remember watching and last
weeks and thinking it was funny when they said they wouldnt have a show
this week. I thought - what are they going to do about interviewing the
eliminated team then? I just assumed they would do it the following
week but if Id thought a little harder I could have found the other
answer!

Anyway, pity about the general ratings last night but I enjoyed the
episode immensely!
