"As many as 10 young men and boys participated in the rape while another
20 looked on, the Chronicle reports. After the girl became drunk on
brandy, they proposed sex but she said no. But the young men placed her
on one of the two red cement benches in the courtyard and said they were
going to have sex with her anyway. The beating and gang rape followed
after the girl tried to kick one of the men in the groin. The attack
lasted 2 1/2 hours."
Of course, this is recognizably the same exact testimony that we have
already read, and while the title says "witnesses", we know that this
actually comes from a single individual who was not in fact a witness
at all, but is quoting what someone else told him.
There's so much bad reporting going around that I wonder how any of
these so-called journalists (to say nothing of their "editors") manage
to stay employed. In any event, I can't imagine that any real
"witness" with any brains would go blab to the press about what he
saw.
