Thanks for posting this item. I HAD read all about this incident with Bonnie Booth shooting herself in the foot to try and remove a painful callous, while drunk, when the incident first occured, in 1996, I believe. You would not BELIEVE how much effort I expended to get ahold of a photos showing Bonnie Booth's face. But I finally did manage to acquire such a photo, and it holds a sacred spot in my foot fetish photo albums, with articles on her shooting her foot pasted in right next to the photo of her.

My foot fantasies about this case always revolve around exactly how PAINFUL her callus must have been, for her to choose to take such a drastic step of trying to shoot the callus off, notwithstanding the fact that she was VERY drunk. Yes, it is tragic. There are many treatments for callus removal, some of them surgical in nature, but all of them a lot less dangerous and a lot more successful than using a shotgun.

Too bad you were not with me last week.:-) I went shopping at the mall, and after a couple of hours, my shoes were absolutely killing my big toe. I was shopping for shoes at the mall, actually. I was trying on shoes at my last store and as I put my left foot into one pair of HIGH heels, I almost screamed it hurt my big toe so bad. I have never had foot pain like that in my life. When I finally got back home and took the shoes off, my big toe hurt if it touched anything. That lasted for about 3 1/2 hours. It was horrible. Not bad enough that I would want my toe cut off, but it was pretty bad.

Mind altering substances are a coping method that inferior humans use to artificially create a false sense of reality within their minds. I am proud to say that in my entire life, I have never gotten high on any substance, legal or illegal. And I never will, for as long as I live. I embrace the truth that my mind gives me, the cold, hard, brutal, truth, with no artificial enhancement or dilution.

Figure skating is indeed quite rough on the feet. Many professional skaters have their skates custom made, in order to accomodate painful areas on their feet, as well as actual bunion deformities. It's not quite as brutal on the feet as ballet dancing, but certainly many skaters suffer with significant foot deformity or foot pain. There is one skater who soaks her feet in ice cold water for about 30-60 minutes in her dressing room, immediately after every performance, in order to ease the inflammation and pain.
