Women Charged With Sexually Assaulting UNC Football Players

Posted: Today at 3:25 p.m.
Updated: 11 minutes ago
Hillsborough — Three UNC football players were the victims in a kidnapping,
robbery and sexual assault incident involving two women, the university
confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Chapel Hill police said the assault happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at an
apartment complex in Chapel Hill where all three victims were bound with
tape and then assaulted by the suspects.

At a bond hearing Thursday, Orange County Assistant District Attorney Morgan
Whitney said police arrived at the scene and found two of the victims, tied
up, in boxer shorts. The third victim was fully clothed with his hands tied.

At least two were were sexually assaulted, Whitney said. He is still waiting
on the final police report to see if the third man was sexually assaulted.

None of the victims required medical attention.

"I am relieved that the players were not injured," UNC head coach Butch
Davis said in a prepared statement Thursday. "We will assist them in any way
we can."

Prosecutors said the victims met the suspects – Monique Jenice Taylor,
Tnikia Monta Washington and Michael Troy Lewis – at a downtown bar and that
they all went back to the victims' apartment to hang out.

Whitney said that at a certain point, Lewis was standing naked in a hallway
with a knife and put it to one of the victims' necks and tried to tie him
up.

Taylor then pulled off the victim's pants, pushed him down on a bed,
attempted to tie his hands with his belt and started to fondle him against
his consent.

"The more that he wrestled, Mr. Lewis put his knife further, or closer, to
the victim's neck," Morgan said. "He repeatedly said no, and as he continued
to resist, Ms. Taylor and the codefendant, Ms. Washington, began to beat him
in the face."

Initially, the victim welcomed the sexual advances, but once Taylor started
fondling him, he said no, Whitney said. The defense attorney said it was
consensual.

Police arrested Taylor and Washington at the scene. Lewis fled after a
confrontation with officers, Chapel Hill police said. He surrendered on
Wednesday.

Taylor, 28, of 209 Millbrook St. in Greenville, and Washington, 29, of 814
Belvin Avenue in Durham, are each charged with one count of first-degree sex
offense, three counts of kidnapping, one count of resisting arrest and three
counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Lewis, 32, of 2118 Lexington St. in Durham, is charged with two counts of
robbery, two counts of assault on a government official, two counts of
possession of stolen goods, three counts of kidnapping, one count of
resisting arrest and three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

All three suspects were initially placed in jail under a $500,000 secured
bond, but Judge Cathrine Stevens reduced Taylor and Belvin's bond to $50,000
Thursday. All three were in the Orange County Jail Thursday afternoon.

I can see Snyder getting all worked up and ready to type, "Tiny Dancer
spec...wait. Oh, nevermind." Actually, he will just ignore the fact that
YOU posted this.

LOL, I was thinking that same thing as I was posting it. ;) And then my
thoughts ran to, "how do they know these guys are telling the truth?"
"After all, they'd been drinking all night, willingly brought these people
home with them." "It was more likely than not 'morning after' regrets, and
now they are claiming rape." "I want them charged with making false rape
claims."

Well, since one of the victims was beaten in the face, there would be
physical evidence. That takes it out of the realm of he said / she
said.

Am I the only one to notice that the subject line misrepresents the
story? It was two women and a man charged with forcibly fondling (a
low grade sexual assault charge), not "women raping men" which is what
the subject line says.

I'm guessing there were drugs involved: the football players hooked
up with these three with the promise of drugs, they flirted their way
in to getting high, and then they were going to bail. But the three
didn't want to let them off that easily - not so dissimilar from how
some male-on-female rapes occur. It's often the drug angle that makes
the perp(s) figure the victim(s) won't report the crime.

Oh bullshit. Mikey would say 'rough sex'. After all, he was consistently
and continually supporting the Haidl three with that same notion.

Oh, my bad, I didn't realize your whole point was to point out that
Michael has some unreasonable positions on rape cases. How could I
have missed that from what you said?

I believe it was nimue who brought up snyder rating this another 'tiny
dancer special'. That is what I was referring to with my remarks.

I think this is a legitimate crime, which is why I posted it in the first
place.

Here's the 911 call.

My point is, when the sexes are reversed, snyder is the first one to
disbelieve immediately, without regard to any possible evidence, and you
know that.

UNC Football Player Whispers for Help in 911 Call

Posted: Today at 5:04 p.m.
Updated: 38 minutes ago

Chapel Hill - A 911 dispatcher could barely hear a UNC football player as he
called for help during an apparent robbery and sexual assault last weekend,
according to a recording released Friday by police.

The caller's voice is barely audible throughout the 80-second-long phone
call, and the dispatcher immediately asks him to speak up to explain what's
happening.

"We're getting (expletive) robbed - that's what's happening," the caller
said. "Please (expletive) hurry."

The 911 dispatcher then asks the caller if someone is breaking into his
apartment.

"He's already in the (expletive) apartment," the caller said, still in a
whisper.

At least two of the three players were sexually assaulted, authorities said
Thursday, and all were found by police bound inside their apartment.

There is no audible mention of any sexual assault on the 911 call.

Police have said the players, attacked early Sunday at their off-campus
apartment, were bound with tape and that one of those charged threatened the
players with a knife. None of the players required medical attention.

Monique Jenice Taylor, 28, and Tnikia Monta Washington, 29, are each charged

with one count of first-degree sex offense, three counts of kidnapping, one
count of resisting arrest and three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Michael Troy Lewis, 32, of 2118 Lexington St. in Durham, is charged with two

counts of robbery, two counts of assault on a government official, two
counts of possession of stolen goods, three counts of kidnapping, one count
of resisting arrest and three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Taylor posted $50,000 bond around 6:30 p.m. Friday. Washington and Lewis
were still in the Orange County Jail under $50,000 bond and $500,000 bond
respectively.

Buuuuut - did I miss the post where Michael said he *did* believe the
allegations in this case? For all you know, he could think the
football players were big teases who were asking for it.

Or maybe there is some other case of rape allegations, where the
victim is male and the perp is female, where he said he believed the
allegations?

See, if you say he believes cases where the genders go one way, and
disbelieve if they are switched, then you need an example of *both*,
not just the latter.

So let's see if you can come up with an example. Otherwise, I will
pronounce this a td special - putting words in his mouth.

When I hear you say the same thing when the sexes are reversed,
you may gain SOME credibility.

Not to Tiny, it doesn't. As soon as the rape accuser is male,
she is ready to shout "false rape accusation". End of story.

Liar. I never "supported" the "Haidl three" at all.
I've never "supported" ANY of the rape-accused that we
have discussed -- if by supported you mean claimed that they
were innocent.

All I have ever said was that they should be presumed innocent
until proven guilty, and that one woman's word does not constitute
proof of guilt.

Were it not for Tiny's baseless accusations, I would not even know
about this case. I made no comment at all on it until she dragged my
name into it.
